Really unimpressed with Hurst. McKeown has played for us for 10 years. Fair enough he’s not our number 1 anymore, but you’d have thought giving him a game in a dead rubber match would have been an easy thing to do as a mark of respect.

We all knew it would be a drastically changed team so no argument there but agree wholeheartedly about James.
Lack of class from Hurst


In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

This game could be vital experience for Battersby, unfortunately there is not much room for sentiment in football and rightly so imo.

Well done Hurst I say. Maccas had his time, had a testimonial year and has the respect of the fans. If Hurst sees Battersby as the man to replace Crocombe in an emergency then he has to play.
