Things seem a little bit tense just off the M1!

Fair play to Rob Staton for sticking to his guns on it.  Always liked Cook, ever since he made a point of joining in with the minutes applause for Futch but he doesn't come across well here at all...

I thought PC was being fair with the interviewer there. He repeated time after time that he was only prepared to answer questions on the Woking game, yet the interviewer kept wanting to ask other questions. PC gave him his chance but the interviewer was too persistent.

When Chesterfield appointed Cook I thought it was an absolute masterstroke. His managerial record is generally very good and I honestly expected him to take Chesterfield up this season. He still might of course, but they look the least likely of those in the play-offs to go all the way as things stand.

Evidently the injury to Kabongo Tshimanga hasn't helped, but he ripped up the James Rowe playbook and tried to implement his own ideas, to no great avail. He's got it horribly, horribly wrong, and he knows it in that interview.

Heard from a mate whos very close to the Chesterfield set-up that hes completely lost the dressing room. He missed training last week to go to Villareal - Liverpool and this is the first (i think) pre-match interview hes done, previously hes made the players do it

He refused to do a press conference after their last defeat which might be why the guy is giving him a hard time
There’s a big thread on their forum about this and Cook generally. They’re very divided about him, guess he a very divisive character

Thought Cook was going to do a Michael Jolley for a minute there

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

Wouldn't be surprised to see him leave Chesterfield before the play offs start.

Yeah he seems somewhat unhinged in that interview. I don't think Rob Staton does a lot wrong. The day managers pick the questions journalists can ask is the day sports journalism dies in my eyes.

As others have said, Cook is a well respected manager. Had Chesterfield been where they are now when he took over, I wouldn't have been surprised to see him turn them around. But walking into a winning dressing room with a winning formula and trying to implement your own ethos from there is a very tricky prospect. It would not surprise me in the slightest if they weren't in the play-offs come FT on Sunday. In fact, I'm expecting that.
