What he struggled with was composure in those instinctive, reactive moments. Those ones that would find him a yard out from goal with the keeper already beaten; those are the ones he would snatch at and spoon over the bar. I’d also argue that the issue was actually exacerbated by the fact he regularly got himself into those positions, meaning he’d regularly be missing one or two open goals per game. Given a little bit of time though, he could tuck them away nicely.   A smooth sea never made a skillful mariner.
