Begin their Vanarama National League North play-off campaign against Chorley tonight (19:45)

A record crowd will be at the LNER Community Stadium for what is expected to be York's biggest attendance in 15 years.

LJL starts for York.

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

And it was a 1 on 1!

It’s a bit of a misnomer that Lenny was / is a poor finisher. If you watch some of his goals back for Town, there are some excellent ones in there.

What he struggled with was composure in those instinctive, reactive moments. Those ones that would find him a yard out from goal with the keeper already beaten; those are the ones he would snatch at and spoon over the bar.

I’d also argue that the issue was actually exacerbated by the fact he regularly got himself into those positions, meaning he’d regularly be missing one or two open goals per game. Given a little bit of time though, he could tuck them away nicely.

Hhmmm, I disagree. Seen enough of him to believe he isn't a particularly good finisher. Plenty of attributes but finishing wouldn't be high up the list.

Play to Lenny’s strengths and he’ll be a success, as that season proved, sadly, this season he just didn’t have what we needed, he’d lost whatever he had and that’s why Hurst moved him on…

A friend who lives in York went to this. (He had a free ticket)

Said he saw Paul Hurst there as well as Waterfall, Coke and Taylor who had gone to watch Lenny.

Thankfully, Waterfall didn't score for Chorley.
