Well we did it..just wanted to say a massive thank you and appreciation to all who’ve made donations and contributed. Colin and I did the walk - but without all your help it wouldn’t have been possible.  Also a thanks to the football club, Mariners Trust, Codalmighty and the fishy for help promoting. I hope collectively we have helped in some way. Will leave the page open for a while for any additional donations, and still have offs and sods to add. As it stands £2705 raised + the gift aid..unbelievable..thanks all ❤️. Love you Mum x

I’d just like to re-iterate Jase’s thanks to everyone, all those who have supported the cause, Kristine and Dave for giving us a warm reception on arrival, including a very refreshing pint of Clap Fish, special mention to the Humber Bridge toll collector who told us how to get onto the walkway and also donated a tenner, Tim and Rebecca who joined us on the bridge and walked to Barrow with us (thanks for the coffee Tim), Jase’s friend whose name I didn’t catch but who ran out of the Rutland to give us a beer and insult my outfit (sorry to anyone who was in any way traumatised, but it was a condition of donation by a group of friends who know me as Captain Underpants), Town for rounding the day off with a great win, but most of all Jase himself for coming up with the idea and putting in a great effort despite only getting one hour’s sleep the night before.
R.I.P. Chris Ives and my mum Ellen Longden (1922-2022) who both died of cancer. I second Jase in hoping that we have collectively helped MacMillan to help others who are suffering now and in the future.

Well done to both of you. No easy feat. As a widower who lost his wife to breast cancer 20 years ago, my heart was with you all the way. I’ll contribute to the Just Giving page later today. Happy memories of your wonderful Mum, Colin.

Having done this I’ve got the urge to do something again next year..maybe for Dementia, or the Handicapped Supporters group.

Already come up with a theme..would involve more personnel being involved, young and old,  in putting together, participating and fundraising collectively.

Theme based around GTFC.

Anyone interested in helping/listening/collating feel free to say hi in fanzone before home games, or message via social media/here.

No rush..will take some doing/organising. But it’s doable.

Well done to you both. Keep us posted Jase on your plans, I've been half debating to myself for a while now to do something to raise money in this sort of way.. I semi looked at walking or scooting 'home' (taunton to grimsby) whichd take a massive effort and alot of training 🤔

Final one I promise ..just FYI..

Total is £3121 + 700 odd gift aid

I do have £40 to add that I collected on the day - and Colin May have a few bits to add also - page will be open until May 15, if there is anyone who would like to donate who yet hasn’t - can do so via the page or I’ll be at Fanzone before the match today.

Many thanks from the bottom of my heart, for raising a very significant amount to a worthy cause, that is close to home and affects/impacts us all at some point.

All the best - Jase.

Recently did a charity walk-want to do something else-here’s my idea- (will take a lot of organisation/help/cooperation/interest)-and I’m thinking of something local..maybe #gtfc handicapped supporters but open to ideas.Anyway..@officialgtfc - 1878..divided by 60(mins)=31.3 hours

So I’m looking at anyone who wants to do a range of activities over that length of time. Cyclists,runners,footballers,5-a-side,snooker,pool etc-at locations we can organise with help. All willing to fundraise as a collective to help an organisation or charity. Make a difference.

Is it a crazy idea? Probably. Is it feasible? Who knows. Would there be interest? Hence asking. So if anyone is/would be interested - all ages - and wants to help/start process/organise/chat/meet etc - I’m more than willing to participate/help myself. @MarinersTrust #gtfc
