We definitely need a pacier option up front to stretch defences.. not critical at the moment, but will round off the squad nicely..

Yep, a player who will punish mistakes - Tshimanga would have been ideal, but not at the cost of part of the rest of the squad building we've done. Chesterfield could be in trouble with one serious injury, whereas we can handle maybe 3 including Grant and Scannell.

Gotta say we do need that centre forward, but we are also desperate for a wide left attacker. Scannell is good
enough but he isn’t going to be fit long enough.

We could have had Vernam for 50k I understand. That would have been an immense signing.

Are we in for this bloke?

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

Really? He has been Bradford best player so far this season according to some on their forum, were they trying to get rid in the summer?

Not sure about that.
I was gobsmacked, like many others, when our previous wise custodians released him when we had the option on his contract.
However he has a less than impressive record since then - 5 goals in some 40 games.
He wasn't in the Bradford squad yesterday so either he was dropped or more likely injured again.

Tshimanga is a very good striker and repaying Chesterfield with goals. As someone pointed out if he gets injured then who are they going to get to score goals. Likewise, somebody pointed out a striker who hits the net every 3 games would be good for us, and I agree. But what happens if he gets injured?, paying big money does not always get you consistency. We haven't had a No 9 for 7 games and haven't lost ( yet ) and 3rd in the table.

Yes, a No 9 is needed but not as a matter of urgency.

Must of us are saying the same thing, but to add to it I'd suggest to be champions we'll probably need that no. 9 of the right calibre at some point. We can't afford too many dropped points against bottom-half teams home or away, and poaching goals from loose balls in the opposition box, when they're parking the bus is what we'll need to avoid that.

Maybe a bit controversial, but I think this all round number 9 (scorer, hold up, link play) is not available within our budget. We have already shown we are not reliant on one player and our style of play doesn't lend itself to a 25 goal a season striker. Our set up means that the front one of the three is there to create space for the two wide players and the attacking midfielder. If he (be it Taylor or Lenny) weighs in with 15 then great.

We need an additional striker, we cant limp through with only 2 , especially two of similar attributes.
With Max Wright potentially looking like having a stop start season, given his ability to impact from bench then we could do with a similar style replacement IMO, quick, direct style player.

We have had a good start so far and with numerous scorers its healthy but we cant rest on our laurels and maybe find ourselves in the middle of a dry patch , losing points whilst we then decide we really need one.
