Two leagues above us and still on our forum. How desperately sad.

If that is meant as a joke then fine. If it was a serious comment (and I suspect it was) then momentum and optimism from the club surely has to be a start. If that transmits to the fans and as a result we sell more tickets then even better. If more people then attend the games and cheer and support the team that could indeed bring us 3 points on a Saturday, and therefore there could then be momentum on the pitch too. I admit it’s all ifs and buts but surely it’s better than saying and doing nothing like the last regime tended to do.

He was making fun of the fact Fenty (think it was him) once said "when did a fitness coach ever win us 3 points on a Saturday".

Essentially "when did XYZ ever win us 3 points on a Saturday?" is now a bit of a GTFC meme, depicting the ridiculous nature of penny pinching of the previous regime.

Rich's posts are some of the best on this forum. His comment is definitely a joke.

Positivity breeds positivity. I look forward to seeing how the board deal with the first bump in the road. It will be refreshing not to be blamed anyway.

Yes, it was definitely tongue in cheek.

If you close your eyes.

Properly, no peeping, you can taste the sarcasm.

Erm…I don’t want to speak for Rich but I think that was patently a joke; a take on a popular Fentyism (I forget it’s origin, but I think he was believed to have told Hurst that an analyst wouldn’t earn the club three points on a Saturday).

Of course, there is a serious point that helping old ladies cross the road doesn’t directly win you games, however doing the right things and running the club the right way will in my opinion translate into tangible, on-field success somewhere down the line (hopefully not too far).

It certainly does.

Rumour has it RichMariner was on the caviar blini last night, washed down with Chateau Latour 1878. So you’re probably tasting lingering ovarian fishiness, spicy eucalyptus and a long, long finish (longer than Schick’s finish even).

Not treating your fans with contempt and having a feel good factor around the place.

Might not get you 3points but it all helps a happy ship  is more likely to do well than a one that is constantly at each other throats.
