Frank Bough used to be an integral part of every Saturday afternoon. Culminating in the teleprinter and the results and tables. I must have spent countless hours watching him.

The epitome of a high profile BBC presenter in the 70's/80's .....ever professional, charming  and hiding a dirty secret.
Given his whole demeanour and image i can still remember how shocked i was when his "scandal" broke....coke, prostitutes, dungeons and sex...Frank Bough !!!!!   of all people.   Respect.

He was part of that Coleman, Wolstenholme, Weekes generation of unflappable BBC sports presenters. We should remember him for that.

"There are places I'll remember
All my life, though some have changed
Some forever, not for better
Some have gone, and some remain
All these places had their moments
With lovers and friends, I still can recall
Some are dead, and some are living
In my life, I've loved them all."

Indeed.

That and the jumpers.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

I remember this very clearly and how shocking it was at the time. Seems quite tame now when you consider what some of his 70s 'peers' were up to.

40+ years of black and white striped misery.

Good old Frank! Hope all his jumpers are preserved.

The BBC teleprinter was the highlight of the sporting day, if you were not at a game
