RIP John.

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

Won me money after having taken advice on Auchtinleck Talbot's cup exploits! RIP Jock Dock. Will give you a toast when in Scotland next week. Condolences to the family

'I walked in the dressing room. The window was open and I thought that a sea fret had got in. Then I saw smoke billowing from a pipe in the corner of the room...it was my centre-forward. He looked seven stone wet through. He went on to score thirty-odd goals that season.' Lawrie McMenemy on encountering the legend that was Matt Tees.

A great shame. Jock was one of the people you could disagree with and still like! Cracking bloke. RIP Jock, condolences to your family.

Horrible news. He was a really lovely bloke and sent me, free of charge, his home made chilli chutney a few times. And it was delicious. Condolences to his family, he will be sorely missed by many.

Looking forward to a brighter future now Fenty has gone.

Unbelievably sad news. Struggling to take this in. John was a great friend to me and to the Mariners Trust. He ran the programme Shop at Town for several years and passed on a lot of his knowledge to me. His help from afar during Operation Promotion was fantastic.
His enthusiasm for lower league football especially with Auchinleck Talbot was legendary. The 'Bot have lost a great volunteer. I've lost a very good friend.
Sleep well mate...
