Horrible news. He was a really lovely bloke and sent me, free of charge, his home made chilli chutney a few times. And it was delicious. Condolences to his family, he will be sorely missed by many.

Unbelievably sad news. Struggling to take this in. John was a great friend to me and to the Mariners Trust. He ran the programme Shop at Town for several years and passed on a lot of his knowledge to me. His help from afar during Operation Promotion was fantastic.
His enthusiasm for lower league football especially with Auchinleck Talbot was legendary. The 'Bot have lost a great volunteer. I've lost a very good friend.
Sleep well mate...

Rest in Peace John. Never met you but your posts on here were always welcome. Mainly because your humanity, and not a little wit, shone through.

If it is the same John Holroyd, he has changed physically from knowing him in year 1 of college in 1970.
