I don't mind Roy Keane making £60,000 a week. I was making the same when I was playing. The only difference was I was printing my own - Mickey Thomas

The area you are trying to protect at corners is the goal - Chris Kamara

Feel really sorry for Macclesfield fans. Really horrible way to go and even though their ownership is a pile of excrement it still seems unfair on everyone else involved in the club. Definitely rather a club like Macc be with us instead of Stevenage, who don’t deserve a Conference team, nevermind a Football League team. Absolutely loathe Stevenage, and hopefully it’s just a years delay.

cheated the system , paid the price. Unfortunate for fans and community but the club has been taking the p1ss for years financially.
Cracking day out off the calendar.

Think the EFL have wanted rid of Macclesfield for a while. Too much trouble thanks to the dreadful ownership and I fear for the future of their club now

without the league funding income and zero crowd income the owner may just fck off now giving them the opportunity to go into admin, fan takeover and do enough to survive a season in non league to grow again.

Great away day, and a super pub crawl down Sunderland Street with it's wonderful real ale houses.

Let’s hope the get relegated this coming season. Does anyone know whether they are the team to avoid relegation with the fewest wins ever?

Sorry - but Macclesfield owners were incompetent at the very least & abused the system - the EFL could not this one go & had to act. Hope their fans can rescue this sad state of affairs.

Don’t understand the big deal here . If we’d been in Stevenage’s position we’d be going mad considering the urine Macc as a club have taken . They definitely deserve to be lobbed out the league if financial mismanagement is going to be addressed .
Obviously it’s the fans who suffer and you’ve got to feel for them .

We see it time and time again, fans, players, etc penalised because of incompetent owners , and more to the point total incompetence by the FA in allowing any Tom, male private and Harry take ownership of a club without the proper governance testing.

It just seems a bit convenient that the EFL added just enough of a points deduction at the end to relegate them. They tried ensuring relegation through so many points deductions, and still Stevenage were so bad that it didn’t count. In the end they waited until they knew hoe much they needed to send them down

So the EFL have just moved the problem on. The national league are tougher than the EFL so i really expect Macc not to be a club with a year.

Lets hope Stevenage away is one of the hopefully few no fans aloud matches.

It’s a tough one; Macclesfield we’re clearly flouting rules, paying over the odds, not paying bills etc. before they returned to the league. That only increased once they did return.

We complain the EFL don’t implement their rules effectively and so forth but they have here and yet some are still not happy.

It’s excrement, for the fans and the players caught up in it (although the players would’ve signed a contract which at the time probably looked unrealistic but I digress). Perhaps the issue is the the ease of which someone can purchase a club and seemingly how little scrutiny really comes from the EFL and to some extent, the FA.

Once again, I think it highlights that the recent vote to implement a salary cap is futile given the lack of clarity and logic, as well as consistency of implementing their rules and regulations. A salary cap wouldn’t have prevented this happening.

A wider issue is the inconsistency in which rules and sanctions are imposed. That’s what is frustrating and in the end it’s almost seemed like the EFL have gone after Macclesfield for some reason.

Ironically, Stevenage were so bad, even with multiple points deductions for Macclesfield, Stevenage were still atrocious and finished bottom.

Yes, they’ve stayed up on a technicality and yes, had we been in their position we’d have complained and now be jumping for joy. I guess deep down the handful of fans they have will know that they were the worst team in the division.

From a fan point of view, however easy it is to get to, Stevenage is an awful away day.

Some may argue the points applied was unfair.  I have no idea what there wage budget was or how much they was actually spending on wages.  What i do know is they failed to pay players wages several times, and couldn't fulfil several fixtures. I think the fit & proper persons test needs revamping.  It can also be difficult for the EFL when say "Joe Bloggs" has the Kwan but then later in the year turns rogue.  They need something to combat this.  There's mention on Twitter that Ken Anderson (Bolton) passed the FPP because he has the Kwan, but they failed to check that his financial record had CCJ, Companies going under etc etc.

We circled the drain for enough years to know that eventually you end up down that plughole, you can only rely on points deductions for so long to keep you up.

I see Grimsby and Carlisle are being slated for wanted Macclesfield relegated according to some on that site.  I dont think for one minute we would stand side by side with Stevenage on this, but i'd say PD would see it as more to do with integrity than anything else, thoughts anyone?

PD may well see it as more to do with integrity than anything else, but as far as I'm concerned he's lost his own. The club (or PD ) should keep their noses out of other clubs affairs. If it had been us instead of Macc we wouldn't have been very happy if the Chairman of another club had stoked the boiler against us.

Just point them to this board and they will see the fans want rid of Stevenage not Macc ideally.......PD has probably had the calculator out and figured out it is cheaper for the team to travel to Stevenage so would prefer them to stay.

Why should a club suffer because of negligent and an incompetent owner? Why buy a football club if you are not going to nurture it?  I think the EFL has been gunning for Macclesfield and there is inconsistency with the way they have been heavily punished. I think Stevenage (who I cannot stand) called a game off and did not get any punishment,  Then they say the decision on Macc is absolute and final. Yep, they wanted to pile it on them. Hope we stuff Stevenage next season and Macc can get back quickly.
