Sports Direct Will NEVER get another penny from me.
Not only trying to stay open, but hiking prices of dumb bells, skipping ropes etc.  Scum.

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

Are you telling me you’ve never played the
‘Let’s skip whilst throwing dumbbells at the dartboard’ game.

You don’t know what you’re missing mate !!

Ashley is a coont, got rich by being a coont and it doesn't surprise me in the slightest that he tried to profit from adversity. I don't shop there and don't intend to in the future.

A lot of bigger Sports Direct stores sell Bicycles don't they? And smaller stores all sell cycling equipment. Bicycle retailers are allowed to stay open aren't they as they are considered a key service? You can maybe see why Mike Ashley felt that Sports Direct were providing an essential service and were justified in staying open.

For example, all clothes shops have to close. But Asda and other supermarkets still have their clothing department open because they also sell Food and Medicines.

You might not agree, but plenty of important key workers (NHS etc...) cycle to work and many will use SD to buy puncture repair kits. inner tubes and other cycling essentials when they need them.

Whatever anyone’s opinions of Ashley, staying open, although it would appear he has since backpeddled, they’re not even close to excrement business practices.

That said, again, confusion reigns supreme. So you can’t go to John Lewis to buy clothes but I can go to Tesco and buy them, because they’re primarily a food shop.

Fact is, of SD were to stay open, people would use it, for lots of reasons...

Don't agree I'm afraid.  Whilst the trying to stay open bit, p1sses me off, I can sort of understand it.  But hiking prices, surely no one can justify that.!!

Market forces....swimgear and sun lotion is cheap in the winter, as are arran sweaters in the summer....supply and demand in a capitalist society i am afraid.
Local stores disappeared along time ago because the public ever demanded cheaper prices over personal, local quality service.....those that are left are now by and large multi national / global players or niche local suppliers.
Support your local independant at these times wherever possible to help prevent them going under and help prevent even further monopolising of the market by the big stores.
