Not sure if many know... Barra (Ian) was one of the two Town fans involved in a collision with a car at the end of the game yesterday.

He is currently in hospital and  hurting....... (Mr Holloway to pay him a visit maybe).

Anyway.... here's to a speedy recovery mate... UTM

Batch, K.Moore, Waters, Wiggington, Crombie, Brolly, Ford, Drinkell, Mitchell, Cumming, Kilmore. D.Moore, Stone, Liddell. ....1979/80..... now that WAS a team.

Not sure what happened but saw another car come into contact with someone as it was rushing to get into McDonalds. Dangerous as people drive like idiots through the crowds.

Barra Here. Thanks for all the good wishes chaps. I’m not too good at the mo. Have 6 broken vertebrae in my spine a fractured shoulder and six stitches in a gash on the back of my head. Could be far worse though. Car estimated to be travelling quickly. Police and doc say I’m lucky to be alive

I take it you’re a doubt for the Euros then, Barra. Hope they got them for dangerous driving.

It does seem that people are getting more irate with having to wait to get through the drive through and there has been lots of revving of engines and abusive shouting from cars. Maybe the club needs to see if they can get the drive through shut on match days? There’s been an increase in road rage incidents on Brereton Ave and the adjoining streets too. I’ve had a bloke get out his car shouting and getting aggressive because I wouldn’t reverse 3/4s of the way back down where I’d been. Needs to be some sort of one way system around there for matchdays but there’s not much point looking at it now if we’re moving.

Bloody hell, that's all you need! Speedy recovery barralad. Sounds like impatience to me on this one. Christ, thousands are coming out of the stadium. Its not as if they couldn't be seen..

Thanks very much for all your good wishes. I can't tell you how much they mean to me.
My accident WAS on Lestrange St. A witness said the car came out of Suggits Lane as she saw a gap in the traffic. Pity she didn't see  us as well!
I've just been told there is no longer term damage but I won'the be going anywhere soon...(I have an OAP Bradford ticket going spare to a good home!)
Thanks again guys.

I was also hit by the car on Lestrange Street along with barralad, unfortunately.

I've been discharged from hospital with only heavy bruising, swelling and shock.

Ian took a hell of a knock. I feared he was a goner. Very frightening all round.

I just wanted to thank all the Town fans, locals and passersby who rushed to our aid, and who stayed with us until the ambulances took us away -- their compassion and common-sense were amazing. I couldn't see what was happening with barralad after the impact, since I was flat out on the road, and he had been launched several feet away, but I do know that many people rushed around him.  The medics were terrific too.

Special heartfelt thanks to the two passing Town fans who stayed with me throughout - strangers to me, who were incredibly kind: Tony Steele and Hayley Kerrigan. Bless you both, and all those others whose names I didn't get (I was well out of it), and who attended to Barralad at the same time.

Barralad is being very brave. His situation is not great, but it could have been much worse.

That must have been a terrible situation for you to be injured and also having to see Barra suffering. Good that these situations often bring out the best in people and you were helped by those at the scene.

Best wishes to you and to Barra for a full recovery no matter how long it takes. There’s no rush, the stadium isn’t ready yet!

UTM

I saw something on Twitter last night about this... only brief details though. I didn't realise how serious it had been

Hopefully Barralad, you'll soon be back on your feet and back to BP to witness our promotion push!

Get well soon!

I echo that Les. Dread to think of it being dismantled and sold off to profiteering Americans!!!

Get well soon lads.

Great news Barra!! Yes I felt forever indebted to NHS and all its staff, superb service... And the food not half bad considering you hear plenty moaning about it. Cant expect The Ritz 😅

Hi guys..just to let people know I'm being discharged home this morning.
Thanks again for your kind thoughts and wishes.
I have no idea why DPOW has such a bad reputation. The care and support I've had have been fantastic. Vive le NHS!!

Great to hear you are back home Ian, now let what has happened be a lesson to you!

Spent a week in DPOW and Castle Hill last summer and the care I received was fantastic.

It's a great feeling when you get discharged though.

The one thing I missed most when I was in Hull Royal was being able to sleep in my own bed!  Hospital beds aren't the most comfiest are they, especially when you have wires sticking out all over the place.

14 weeks in Ipswich and 2 in Addenbrookes, fantastic care, average food and couldn't sleep at night. Could have slept all day tho' (If they'd let me!)

We are so lucky to have the NHS

You're right there.  I'm in Asia and more worried of possible quarantine than the actual virus.  It's pretty chaotic at the moment.
