The reason they had so much space?
Great pace, movement, passing, fitness levels, confidence, intelligence
We are L2 and very hard to keep clearing ball and not expect for it to come back
Gulf in class is massive these days

FFS - get real!

our defence panicked, we lost us shape, Macca  was awesome, a few  good performances, a stupid penalty gaff and  the best goal of the  game....worth a tenner? wish I had been there

7-1 is massively disappointing but we were done after 60. The fitness levels were worlds apart, it seemed  Chelsea had two men in every position where we had one.

As a town fan it was a bit shite to watch but as a football fan you have to sit back and admire the football that they played.

Pity it was a big score in the end but soon as we went 2 down the Jolly plan of just camp out in our own area was out of the window, then couldn't make subs after 10 mins really so left with 10 chuggers for the next 40 mins. Unfortuneately 90 mins of hard work and endeavour not enough against prem league players, whereas in league 2 thats going to get you points.
Exeter next lets hope we're smarting from tonight and ready to show the world what we're really capable of.

Disappointing but I didn't really expect anything less from Chelsea. Hopefully the experience of playing against world-class players can be brought back to our level. Onwards and upwards!

I wonder how many of their players earn more each week than all of our players combined? Most of them, probably.

Not a good result, but it wasn't exactly a settled defence so perhaps not too surprising we apparently let some soft goals in. For comparison, I went to the game at Hillsborough where we lost 7-1 and the gulf in league placings between those two teams wasn't nearly as large.

Or, on the other hand, 6 of their goals came from experienced full internationals with the other coming from a youngster who is in the England Under-20s.

How many international caps in our team, again?

Thought we did as well as we could.. they where far far better than us in all departments. 7 was no where near what they could have had. some of there players earn more a week than out squad is worth every week. the lads gave what they had , but the gulf is far beyond us to overcome.

Quoted from MuddyWaters
Massive gulf in class underlining how shocking the financial state of football is. Sky have massively skewed how difficult it is for clubs like us to compete.

Great show by our fans but the reality is that we can’t bat above our weight like we used to.

Rochdale have held man spew to a draw
