Interesting piece in the Guardian https://www.theguardian.com/football/2018/sep/12/grimsby-manager-michael-jolley-twin-towers-new-york-911

I'd say his banking past and that day in particular help towards his calm demeanour.

There is a former poster on this board who worked for a firm that had offices on one of the upper floors of one of the towers. Fortunately he was away from his office on business in Europe in that particular week. His firm lost over 200 junior management and other grades that day.

The aim of argument or discussion should not be victory but progress.

That  must have had a big effect on him,

Managing Grimsby Town will be a doddle for him far less stressful,

So even in the finance game he was known as a ‘risk manager’ how ironic.

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime. Promise a man someone else's fish and he votes Labour.

That's what being a football manager is. Maybe a lot just don't realise it.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.
