When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

I once met Sir Alex and his wife and he was a complete gentleman.
Hope he pulls through this battle.

He'll score a late equaliser and progress to the next round.

Horrible times for his family and millions around the world who adore him.

Easily the best manager I’ll ever see in my lifetime!

Hope he pulls through and has no lasting damage!

Always 'hated' him as a kid but eventually realised that I hated the fact that he won all the time. Without question the greatest manager I've ever seen. Wish him well.

Saw that Darren Fergus on didn't go to donny game for family reasons. That explains it.

Echo the previous comments, was never a United fan but he's the best manager of my lifetime, an absolute winner and from people I know who have met him , a right nice chap.

I guy I used to work with knew him quite well and said he was a real  nice guy away from football. Very generous too. And this came from someone who wasn't a United fan.

Good to see the Man City fans sending him messages of support today. Very classy of them.

Get well soon Sir A.
