I once met Sir Alex and his wife and he was a complete gentleman.

Always 'hated' him as a kid but eventually realised that I hated the fact that he won all the time. Without question the greatest manager I've ever seen. Wish him well.

Echo the previous comments, was never a United fan but he's the best manager of my lifetime, an absolute winner and from people I know who have met him , a right nice chap.

I guy I used to work with knew him quite well and said he was a real  nice guy away from football. Very generous too. And this came from someone who wasn't a United fan.

Good to see the Man City fans sending him messages of support today. Very classy of them.
