Unfortunately there are still people who can't see this despite the evidence of our decline during Fentys time at the top.
This just keeps him hanging on.


In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

Well - just look at the facts.

If we go down again we will have had the following in 15 seasons.
5 seasons which were relegations or equivalent - if you count the year we were saved by points deductions elsewhere.  (33.3%)
6 years in Non League - (40%.)
3 times we would have finished in the bottom two of the entire football league (but for points deductions) so  - an achievement I think would be hard to get to even if you tried really hard.  (20%) one in every five seasons.

So essentially 3/4 of the time has been non-league or relegation.
Good value for £2M?

I have been making this point for ages. Been trying to stick by Fenty but these stats are just unforgivable.

Everyone can have one bad season, a star player gets a bad injury, a bad manager appointment, or really bad luck. But 3/4 of bad seasons in your 15 yrs, tells us it's not ITV's fault, not woods fault, not even Slade's fault but the man that has presided over this dross.

I used to be so proud telling people I was a Grimsby fan, now, I try to hide it.
