I've just had a look at the last two seasons cup results. Just the two FA Cup games, two league cup games and six Checkatrade trophy games.
You'll see our record is a remarkable tale of absolute failure. Even after drawing a couple of games in the Checkatrade, we went on to lose both games on penalties. I could have been harsh and gone for a proper 0/10. What an absolute joke this once great club has become.
Played 10
Won 0 Drawn 2 (both Checkatrade games, went on to lose both on penalties) Lost 8

Cheers BP. I'm depressed enough over the league form.
It's so fooking joyless being a Town fan.

To be fair, the 4 proper matches were against clubs in a higher division and the other 6 don't really count anyway (although the 4 proper clubs we played were also in a higher division). I'd say the general running of the club and the current league form is more indicative of the club becoming a joke than some cup matches we weren't likely to win anyway.

Yeah, but teams from lower divisions beat teams from higher ones all the time, except us of course.

urine poor and reference the footballing fortune and how it can galvanize a Club were missing out big style. I know the Scunny and Hudds home games a few years back felt like proper good cup ties and the crowds were great and Town got some much needed revenue. The draw hasn`t been kind but like with a lot of things we must try harder.

Plymouth away wasn't too taxing, but once again we lose 1-0. Can't even manage a draw and bring them back here, with a chance to progress.

No matter how bad it gets I shudder at the thought on having to take part in the FA Trophy again. It has to be the most annoying, intrusive tournament ever invented. And irritatingly we tended to do rather well in it every season

I think the point was it was FA Cup weekend we were not in it AGAIN and the term footballing fortune which gets bandied around paid handsome dividends for Newport.

You're right, but it's the way everyone is feeling. No wins to talk about.

If we go down can we soften the blow by signing Pearson, unless he passes us on the way up

According to your mate Padge we are due some football fortune.

Maybe we should sign some players that can play football then, much more chance of winning games and enjoying some 'football fortune' if you aren't rummaging through the Tesco best before dates up bargain bin when everyone else has been to the top table at the Ritz buffet.
