Exciting music and graphics then they went and spoiled it all by the ads for the local dry cleaners/curry house 'not 200 yards from this cinema'.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

Going by some of the posts on this thread, a lot of people had more "grown-up" taste in programmes than when I was a kid.

I loved these when I was a kid.

Brilliant the lot of them Les. and the other ones you picked out. All iconic of my childhood.

Hair Bear bunch - Josh Gowling's inspiration

Banana Splits: loved that Aladdin(?) thing 'SIIZE of a giiiraffe'

Stop the Pigeon: 'whadidee sayyy, whadidee sayyy?' 'Clunk said, "when the pigeon lands on the plate, the weight pushes down on the spring, pushes the lever and out pops the hammer and [whistle] the pigeon" '.

And I don't think anyone has mentioned this gem from the late 60's, still spawning offshoots now.

Holy Nostalgia Brechinman. My big sisters made me and my brother Batman and Robin outfits out of old sheets as capes and their discarded tights and knickers. How naive we were. They must have been pissing themselves seeing us run round the street dressed like that.

Geek alert.

Never spotted this before, but the Union Flag is the pre-1801 Act of Union version. i.e. before Ireland became part of the United Kingdom. No cross of St Patrick. Must have been a prop from the Last of the Mohicans serial or something about the American War of Independence.

Sorry. Carry on.

Double geek alert. The black kid (Brinsley Forde) went on to be in the band Aswad

The aim of argument or discussion should not be victory but progress.
