I think that is a pretty reasonable assessment

This.

I still feel MB was hung out to dry. We took him from a cushy job and gave him the keys to the sweet shop, then let him run riot and crash and burn. He seems to have had no guidance and was working under the illusion that he was here for the long haul. It almost feels like he was left the keys to the house while the parents were on holiday and they were surprised when he had a massive party, invited all his friends, raided the drinks cabinet and trashed the place. Now we have to pay by securing the services of a boring schoolteacher to restore normality. The board are culpable in all this.

Sorry are we talking about Mike Newell's tenure or Marcus'?

I don't think anyone is denying the role of all parties in this one.  Bignot was given the backing to do as he wished and if I recall correctly, John Fenty backed his January clear out by promising it would give us a better chance next season.

Despite that though, Bignot was still the wrong man for the job.  He was out of his depth and we're not in a position where we can see someone learn on the job.  He's gone and for whatever reason the club have used to sack him, it's ultimately for the best.

Some truth in that BUT in this time of social media a lot of fans want to know everything about everything.I don`t I just want to see Town play decent football and win as many games as possible and because of the era I have grown up in I think it`s better matters are dealt with behind closed doors. One example of MB getting it all wrong even if every word he said may have been true was the RH interview with first Mckeown and then himself a classic example of Manager and player both making themselves look bad.MB came into the Town job and ticked all the boxes he got off to a great start in terms of results and interviews then the wheels fell off and he was clearly out of his depth.JF alluded to yesterday the squad size and MB basically promising what he brought in he could ship out in terms of numbers he failed and we are left with a monstrous wage bill and unhappy players. The key word is Manager you have to manage a first team squad and work within a budget whilst also achieving decent results and oddly enough MB was probably on par with part 3 which is the usual tipping point? All very strange I can`t say it`s fair to label MB a failure in the normal sense but clearly his lack of football league experience cost him and Town could not afford to risk non league again.

Yes, standards and values are set from the top.  A fish rots from the head first.

If you have the right character and the right values, you should not need media training to say the right things, in the right way at the right time.
