On the face of it, it's an interview that you would expect from him. However, even PH stated that we weren't much better than the Kiddy game, and in reality, we've been pretty poor at home for most of the season. It's the away form that has put us where we are, when we are suited to defend and then counter-attack. I keep going back to the way we start games, we don't get the crowd at it and BP becomes like a morgue, which IMO is strange given the quality of the likes if Arnold, Nielson, Brown, Pittman etc.

We've actually got 2 MORE points at home than we have away, although we have played 1 more home game.

Most teams do not have that kind of parity though so that's why Town are 2nd in the table. I agree with Old Codger, the side is set up to defend on the basis that you start the game with a point and if nothing happens then you end it with a point. It is playing the percentages when you don't feel confident enough in your players to commit to taking the game to the opposition.

Just had a quick look at the home/away points split of the current Top 10

Barnet - 22H 24A Played 1 more away
Grimsby - 21 19 +1 home
Macc - 28 11 +2 home
Bristol - 24 14 same
Woking 16 20 +1 away
Gateshead 20 15 +1 away
FGR 16 18 +1 away
Kiddy 21 13 same
Eastleigh 24 9 +1 home
Torquay 19 13 +1 away

Not really sure what it all means though.

In terms of points per game, home and away, we would be 7th/8th on home form and 3rd away. Are you saying we were anything other than poor against Southport, Altrincham, Kiddy or Dover?

No, I totally agree. I was just pointing out the fact that at the minute we have got more points at home than we have away.

The home/away tables do make interesting reading. We would actually only be 10th on home form. Barnet would only be 4th though and Woking wouldn't even be in the top half. Eastleigh would be top of the home only table.

In the away only table though the top 3 are Barnet, Woking and we are currently 3rd.

Looking at them 3 teams Les,

I think we can write them off for promotion,

Too few points from away games.
