I've moaned about Hurst my fair share but the volume of noise on this board since Saturday is embarrassing.

Yes his tactics have been negative and yes I don't believe he'll ever get us promoted due to his huge inconsistencies, negativity and stubbornness.

However, it's flipping barmy to be ribbing him after the last month or so of results.

Which is the point - not many believe he'll get the club out of this league.

If Buckley had had this run of results and then Saturday had happened, the fans would have put it down to a bad day at the office. The but is that Buckley wouldn't have put out such a negative looking team for a fixture that we should be winning. And before anyone thinks otherwise, I'm not advocating the return of AB, just highlighting the frustrations caused by PH's negativity.

You can name far more average (or worse) performances - particularly at home - than you can good. Kiddy, Oxford, Southport, Altrincham, Dover etc. which is why the fans have little faith in his ability to achieve what this club desperately needs.

For myself:

Back line: Walker  Magnay  Pearson  Thomas (full backs who can get forward)

Midfield: Toto (defensive); Disley & Brown (experienced)

Nice to see some good, old-fashioned messageboard craziness on a Monday morning!

Magnay has been our best right-back for yonks, but you want to move him into the centre and play the almost untested Walker instead? Putting Toto in central midfield seems similarly bonkers.

Our last 10 games:
W 6
D 3
L 1

Scored - 14
Conceded - 6

Points 21 which is 2.10 points per game.

that is promotion form.

When Mansfield got promoted:
Mansfield Town Played 46 Points 95 = 2.07 points per game

Barcelona lost to Celta Vigo at home a few weeks ago.

I was extremely annoyed with the performance and result, but was not ready to call for hurst head.

But how many of those wins have we played well ? Under half, I know I was there!

True enough, I'd agree with that if the team was boring but playing consistently well to a plan and winning the games deservedly. But that's not the case is it? Inconsistent and long spells of poor play. The lucky streak that kept us going has run out at least for now. The Woking game is a big one in that respect though why we should ever need to worry about a team like Woking is another matter.

We seemed to have coached the ability out of more attackers than seems possible - Mackreth being the latest - in order to get the best out of Lennie. We may be second in the league but we haven't had our traditional post-Christmas dip yet.

Did Mackreth have more ability in the past than he has now? Or did he just run past Lee Ridley a few times?

Which games do you consider we were lucky in and are there any were you perhaps consider us unlucky?

Do you know what ? I couldnt give a toss..

Same old arguments from the same old people saying the sane old stuff (me included).

We either accept the dire football with the false hope followed by the great wins then bought back down to earth with losing at home again..

I dont and am quite resigned to the fact its the same old same old.
