I suppose it dates back to the original state pension ages, not to be confused with retirement age.  The latter doesn't exist legally any more.
I always used to get annoyed when I was a member of Total Fitness.  They gave a 30% discount to over 55s.  Same facilities, no restrictions.  Straightforward age discrimination IMHO.

I remember being pelted with ice by the Norwich fans during the Milk Cup match, do you?

Well that's one way to look at it.
I personally think commercial organisations (not to be confused with "democratic rights" ?) should have the ability to generally set prices however they wish.
I'm not saying whether it's right or wrong but if the club are following the principle of general retirement age (or maybe it's "original state pension ages" sorry !) it sounds reasonable enough to me.

Is a club allowed to change admission prices to suit? I.e. If a team is taking a sizeable following last game of the season (hopefully us at southport) adding £3 on the ticket price for visiting fans.

It's a whole grey area (no pun intended).  There is also quite a bit of difference between clubs.  I think Lincoln's OAP rate for me is 60, whereas ours is 65.  Sorry if this isn't correct, my father used to complain about this!!  Moan actually.

I always thought the club has to charge the same for home and away fans.  Something done during the height of the trouble, to reduce the chances of away fans ending up in home areas.  Might be wrong.

I think they cannot charge more than the equivalent type of seating standing for home fans. Some teams (eg Macclesfield I think). categorise matches AB or C and charge more when they play teams like us, Wrexham and Luton

Well not when women retire at 60 and men retire at 65...

Women don't retire at 60.
