The wheels are well and truly coming off now.
We must look at how to rescue this season.
The title is gone and we are now looking over our shoulders at staying in the chase.
Too many players not delivering the goods. Hannah hasn't scored since he signed,  Devitt inconsistent and too many players drifting in and out.
We've been caught up, sussed out and spluttering in all departments.
Sort it out Scott & Hurst. Promotion is paramount, tin pot trophies mean nothing.
I really don't fancy the play-offs and another season in this SHITE league where you're lucky to get 30 away fans :'

Doesn't 'bottled it' infer that we lacked courage? Were intimidated? Lacked commitment or concentration or were overawed? It didn't sound like it to me. I'm as disappointed as anyone (and pi$$ed off), but don't think that's fair comment. We had some underperforming players and we were very unlucky generally.

'Bottling it" could refer to losing confidence, self belief and winning mentality!

"Did the mods take this into account, when aaron slobbers all over threads with his garbage and attention seeking posts ( though not always) that when he gets put in his place, he could abuse his position and delete comments and block members- no offence but he's the sort of mammary that would do this. the whole decision is beyond belief imo" Hagrid

I prefer my definition. We sounded like we were playing with confidence up until we conceded. Saying we 'bottled it' is disrespectful to the players I think, and I reckon they deserve better than that. The best people to comment will be some of the travelling Town fans when they return and start to post.

Im on way back now, as soon as disley went off, things turned bad, midfield without disley and niven is extremely poor, we didn't bottle it, cook and Hannah looks very very low on confidence

Bottled it? take your head for a shake my fellow fishy friend, we havent bottled it at all. you are dissapointed and maybe correct to be so, we all are. the facts are that we have lost back to back matches against two of the in form teams in the division, both of which have assembled a championship winning squad just like ourselves. we have no divine right to beat these teams and sometimes you have to acknowledge/accept the fact that whilst being good we are not world beaters.  it is a mini blip for sure but dont let your dissapointment cloud your better judgement,   chin up lads     the overall ambition is promotion, does it matter how we get there, no not one bit, but as long as we can look back at the season and say the final standings justifies our efforts i will be happy with that, fingers crossed our efforts this year over the whole season , not just march are enough to match our ambitions.

am not losing faith one little bit, nor should any other posters on here,

Anyone who saw tonights game could ever claim that the team had 'bottled it'.

Probably as good as a performance than we have put in for months. Yes, we lost the points but if we play like thta for the remaining games this season isnt over yet.

Everyone needs to stick together and give the team every possible support. The season isnt over yet

No way did we bottle it - can't understand that comment at all
General play was very good - final ball and finishing was poor; that's what cost us tonight
Several/many times we wroked great opeings and either made the wrong choice or the cross/shot was very poor
Miller off the pitch when they scored from corner and 2nd goal was unstoppable
Not impressed with them - bully boy team who are just very strong
Desperately need to get someone scoring some goals - as it is the forward players look ver anxious and uncomposed to me in and around the box which isn't helping.
Naylor was good and always got the ball out wide when he could
Play like this (and score more) and we could still close the gap...trouble is too many teams are up there and not all will implode
Probably play offs

Not sure we've bottled it, in my opinion I didn't think our squad was ever going to be good enough to see us over the line for the entire season.

Barring a massive upturn in fortunes, were gonna have to do it the hard way

On last nights 1st half performance, no way. They took their chances we couldn`t/didn`t. Think  the night was summed up perfectly by their choice for  man of the match....... their goalkeeper !!

10 games ago we would've said Mansfield and Kidderminster were barely in it - now look at them. If we can put together a run of 3 or 4 wins on the spin, starting on Saturday, then we can get back in it. Best performance in a while last night so why can't we?

My five pennorth.  Was talking to a Mansfield fan on the train back to Nottingham who genuinely couldn't believe that we'd lost the game 2-0. Whilst it's easy to be magnaminous in victory it does show that talk of the team somehow bottling it is way off the mark.
Once the first goal went in we were always going to have to chase the game and if I watch Town until the next millenium I doubt I'll see a better goal scored against us than the second.
That said there are undoubted issues. Our attacking play goes in fits and starts. All our forwards seem to be lacking in the confidence that was there in spades before Christmas. I've been very critical of the standard of delivery from out wide to the front men but last night, particularly in the personage of Devitt (easily his best game since his return) the service was fine.
The managers would do well to sit Hannah down and tell him to chill out a little. The lad is becoming increasingly frustrated not just with himself but also his teammates.
All is not lost. Mansfield play Wrexham and Forest Green next. All the teams at the top end have to play games against their promotion rivals.

The aim of argument or discussion should not be victory but progress.

Joseph Joubert.
