How many of us will EVER get the chance to score on Wembleys hallowed turf?

Here is YOUR chance;

We have announced the opportunity for kids to be a mascot or flag bearer at Wembley and now we have something very special for Adults.

Ever dreamt of taking a penalty on the hallowed Wembley pitch in front of over 40000 people? Well here is your chance . We have managed to pursuade the FA to do a half time penalty competion Mariners Trust v Wrexham Trust. This will involve 4 people - 3 penalty takers and a goalkeeper .

This participants will be selected from a draw to take place at the Cambridge game on March 16th and to be eligible to be in it you will have to be a Trust member as at midnight March 15th. Two places will be allocated to existing members and the remaining 2 places will be available to all members as at March 15th.

Just to clarify for both this and the Junior draw you will need to tell us you want to be in it , you will not be entered automatically. This is because we have to send forms to the FA immediately after the draw and so we need to ensure a) the winner is actually attending the game and b) the winner wants to take part.

For both the Junior and Adult draws we need to submit details of seat number so you will need to have bought your ticket by the time of the draw. Only the participants are allowed on the pitch, no family members or friends.

Adult member but penalty shoot out not for you ? We  still have something to make your day extra special. We have an executive package for two people as a free prize draw . This includes a meal before the game in the Bobby Moore lounge and great Club Wembley seats. If you win and you already have your tickets don't worry these will be refunded. Again we are asking members to tell us if they want to be included in the draw and to be eligible you need to be a member by March 15th

Hopefully you will agree that these are fantastic once in lifetime opportunities  and we hope the winners have a day they will never forget . Good Luck !!

E-mail enquiries@marinerstrust.co.uk if you wish to be included in the draw.

Anyone not a member can still win this fantastic prize, just join the Trust before  midnight on the 15th March

Tempting indeed

The downside might be the Wembley crowd all shouting out  Hugh Phatt Barsteward just before taking a pen...not sure I'd have the composure after that

Oh yes! I'm in.

Definitely going to that fancy dan slow chip down the centre of the goal if selected. Will "do a Burnett" if I score as well.

I thought the title of the thread was a call to do what we did at Burton if town lost.

I bit harsh I thought but I'm up for it if anyone else is?!

Are we any closer to getting promoted since Hurst has been here? No

I hope this ( and the junior mariner mascot/flag bearer) will result in increased membership. Many people are putting in a hell of a lot of time to try and give the fanbase an increased involvement in YOUR club

Great work by the Trust persuading the FA to do this. Not sure I would limit the mascot one to 'Trust' members only, seems a little unfair to all the kids whose parents won't sign them up but that's just my opinion... Anyway good luck to all who enter and well done again to the Trust...

I think they've got the right idea and it can only help GTFC, very well done to everyone concerned in making it happen!

Just wondered if anything is being posted in the GET? Would be great to have a front page picture and write up of the competition, personally think it'd get LOADS of people signing up to the trust to try win the prizes on offer.

Just a reminder that to be included in any of the draws, Penalty Shoot Out, Executive Package, Flag Bearer or Mascot you need to have joined the Trust by midnight on Friday 15th March. Once joined e-mail enquiries@marinerstrust.co.uk to indicate which draws you want to be in.

Even if you don't want to be included in the draws- why not join anyway?

PS;  For the mascot/flag bearer draws the youngster must be a junior member of the trust in their own right

Sadly not at present, the FA rules round mascots and pitch activities have meant that this group of young fans have missed out this time. We are working hard to come up with something for this age group for after Wembley...any suggestions welcomed.

I've put my name down for both the penalties and the Bobby Moore Suite nosh - I'm sure I could tuck one or the other away!

On the subject of the age limits, it is a bit of a shame that those falling between "children up to 12" and those "over 16s" might miss out on the extras

My son is 14 and while there are no guarantees he'd get the opportunity to be drawn out, he and many other kids who follow Town avidly all through the season are sadly being excluded (as things stand) from getting involved further in our big day out

If I am lucky enough to win the draw to take part in the penalty shoot out maybe he can pretend to be an overweight middle aged bloke reliving his childhood...

I agree with the issues about the 13-15 age group but there was nothing the Trust could do.

The FA gave us strict guidlines as to the qualifying ages, it was out of our hands, sorry

I fully understand Chris.. these things sometimes happen

Explaining it to someone who would desperately love to be in with a shout but being excluded because of his age is tough...welcome to the real world where not everything is fair no matter how much you sugar coat it. Sad but true

All in all though I maintain this is a fantastic initiative for which the trust deserve massive respect for helping some lucky Town fans to have memories of the occasion that they can only dream of.

Well done to all involved! The trust take some criticism from some quarters but let's give them credit where due!
