are hugely important given the nature/quality of the opposition and the loss of our loanees.
i've put the prospects into 4 'brackets'
0-3 points - below par; hopefully we'll steady the ship and make the play offs
4-6 points - probably par; we'll need some new recruits and i suspect we'll be biting our fingernails every week until May
7-9 points - birdie!! we're in with a chance - just need to get a couple of those loanees back..
10 points+ - bloody hell! we CAN win this league!
personally i think we'll get 5-7 points. predictions/thoughts please?

I think it would be wrong to target anything less than 12 points. We need to win the division to avoid the lottery of the play offs and the probable break up of the team and perhaps management team.
The old saying one game at a time applies here starting on Friday. I haven't seen any team that has been better than us all season long, I believe we are the best team in the division and all things being equal I think we will deliver over the Christmas period and beyond.

10 points. I don't want the stress of play-offs. Trip to Wembley will come through the FA-Trophy final.

At least 9 points. We have no reason to fear any team in this league, on our day we are the best side in the division. The team works hard and works well as a team, provided they turn up over xmas, we'll get at least 9 points. Hopefully our excellent support, home and away, will spur them on!

8 points would do me to be honest...although the more the merrier! 2 home wins and 2 away draws would suit but if we could make it 4 out of 4...yo ho ho! Btw Les I found out the other day my mum lives just over the road from you!

yeah, but all these are what you are HOPING aren't they? what do you think realistically, given that we play our nearest rivals twice plus 2 other promotion candidates, one of which is also a local derby? that's why i think 5 -7

No team seems to have grabbed the initiative at all this season, unlike Crawley and Fleetwood in the last 2 seasons. From very early on the past 2 seasons it was pretty obvious who was going to win the league, (even though Wrexham pushed Fleetwood close last season).
It seems that this season nobody has had the ability to pull away from the pack with the lead regularly changing hands. It's still very hard to call between Us, Luton, Newport, Wrexham and FGR, still all in with a good shout of the title and even Mansfield and dare I say it Lincoln could still challenge on current form. The fact that Kidderminster didn't register their first win until their 11TH GAME and are now threatening does show that this season the title race is wide open.
We really need to grasp the initiative and string a few wins together to put some distance between us and the chasing pack and with 6 games coming up between Friday and the 8th of January it's time we started to make that move. Obviously it will be a big blow if we lose Hannah, Nielsen and Pond but hopefully something can be sorted out in the New Year and we can push on.

Yes Forza i am hoping, With our run of form we can do it, We are not an easy team to beat now, 2 home games 2 away games against inform clubs, But town are inform too,me personally think the Mansfield game will be the banana skin, But lets hope we can get a good run mate because this could be the turning point in our season.

I think we shall get 10 to 12 points because we have a good solid back line, best in BSP and league 2 combined, and on their day the midfield without neilson and forwards without hannah can bang in the goals like what Mansfield showed

Why have people not realised that when we were saying that Lincoln may have an eye on playing Liverpool when we play them so may be easier to take points from, that Mansfield ARE playing liverpool, therefore is the same not truu?

It's going to be tough but I think we should be looking at 7 - 12. I get a feeling in my bones it is going to be between us and Wrexham with a points gap opening up between us.

They didn't really break away at the top until the last 2-3 weeks of the season after they played Wrexham at home but I think it was always pretty obvious that they were going to win the league from fairly early on.

Just realised how pivotal this xmas period is for us in terms of results because after these four games the fixtures read:
Hereford A FA Trophy R3 Welling A Nuneaton A Braintree A Hyde H Cambridge A FA Trophy R4 Alfreton H Telford H Woking A Ebbsfleet H
all these before tricky games vs Dartford and Macclesfield
Considering our away form all the above are winnable, so a decent amount of points from the xmas games could set us up nicely to hit top of the league and drum up an nice points tally heading towards the end of the season

I believe we are the best team in the league, even with some loanees missing. We should be looking at maximum points but the league is bonkers this year, also i suspect, and rightly so, the managers will have a 'game at a time' focus. Don't ahead of yourself. The league is the tightest it has been for a while and we have to capitalise on that. I personally don't see the top 5/6 changing that much. The teams on a good run just outside are reliant on the top 5 losing which isn't happening at present and the mansfields, Lincolns (to a point) and kiddys are playing catch up much as we did last year.
We just need to worry about ourselves, bookies, non town fans etc are still getting their knickers in a twist over Luton etc...we can just go about our business quietly and turn up in April and BOOM!

12 out of 12 will be massive for us and could pretty much confirm a play-off spot ! yes loads of points up for grabs but we will surely win more than we lose for now on in ..... Hopefully we can continue this form and build a good point gap between us and the rest of the league UTM

I do now, Lincoln was the one we might drop a point for me, BUT A win at Mansfield should happen and home to Lincoln will be , how many will we score.
