The question now is do we let Scott Nielsen go back now and bring in a replacement. Personally I think it depends if the managers are lining up signing him permanantly in January. If they are keep him in the camp. If not we need a left mid for the next 3 games and beyond so ditch and replace.

Its about the fact he is only on loan and now we have 3 games without a recognized left mid. Everything that happens has to have a managerial reaction one way or another. Can we afford to sit him down for a month is the question when we are trying to push on. I like the player and if there is no one else on the radar fair enough. If a player had an injury keeping him out for 3 games he would go back so its just the same.

I am amazed anyone could ask this question where are going to pick up someone of his ability as a replacement? Yes his tricks did not come off all the time yesterday and he maybe overdid it but on many occasions it took 2 or 3 players to stop him. He is threat in this league.

He's a contender for TOTW but we might as well keep him. He'll be fresh for some very winnable games in late November and early Deceber. And without Hearn, Nielson is all we have going forward.

I thinks APT's point is being missed he's suggesting that he will be making keeping him on loan non viable as we will lose him for 3 games and need another player in.

I think the point is he's not due to go back from loan until around 21st Dec if that's true he will miss 3 and then play another 4 so the question is  really if it's too soon to ditch him if he will be playing 4 out of a possible 7 games and I think the bosses will probably think so.

He will miss:
Tamworth H
Hyde A
Woking H

Back for:
Braintree H
Ebbsfleet H
Gateshead A
Tamworth H
FA Trophy R1
Wrexham H

So definitely worth keeping him, and good work GTFC in moving that Tamworth away game!

We have to keep a player of his capability, Let's hope we can sign him or at least keep him till the end of the season.

He will stay and we could even appeal his red. He's the best player we have and we'll just have to learn to manage without him. The question for me is not the one posed - it's how do we compensate for not having him with replacements or tactics? It must be abundantly clear by now that straight-swapping him for Artus could leave us significantly weakened.

I'm already dreading the 3 games we are without him, as frankly the rest of our forward line look a bit clueless, and you are taking about letting him go? No no no no no no noooooooooooo.

He should stay at least to the end of the season,

Maybe we could sign him on a permanent contract if Crawley don't want him.

We'd be daft to let him go in my opinion but if we can keep him its vital for the rest of the season he doesnt have anymore of these red mist momments because with now lost a very important player for 3 games.

Definitely keep him but also see what APT means cos if he's gonna be off later we're gonna need to replace him later at some point anyway.
But yeah, far too good a player to let go !

Still think that centre midfield is a problem with non dominance of the other sides. The less skilful teams pack the midfield to frustrate the players we have (double marking Neilsen for example) and we resort to long ball to overcome the mass in the centre of the field, leaving us prone to counter attacks by physical players.

Elding is a shadow of last year's player without his injured henchman up front with him.

The reserves need games in to keep fitness levels up and get fringe players more competitive.

Lucky still to be fifth - could have been second or third but for.....  the home horror shows !

The question now is... who plays up front for three games ??

I think he will be. Whens his loan come to an end mid December?

We need a striker as well because cook elding and pearson are not hitting the net. Leave it to late I feel we'll be off the pace and not making ground on the teams above us.

His last game will be the Wrexham game, by my maths.

And yes, though I'll exclude Pearson from my criticism.

Must keep hold of him, preferably permanently, but his red mist moment may have really cost us. IF we don't win all 3 games he's out for and IF we're 1 or 2 points away from the title come May....! (Massively speculative I know.)

No need! We've got Marcus now!

I think we'll play Neilson up top when he comes back. Is he the answer up front? Sir alan buckley thinks so.

I've not heard Buckley say that but its an interesting suggestion. He's certainly got enough awareness and good feet to be able to play the role of the deeper lying forward.

I haven't been able to get to the last two home games so listened to radio and buckley has mentioned a few times that we should push Scott up top, I think we sort of did in the two games and it made a difference according to humberside. But yeah I like the sound of him player as deep lying forward.

Good question.
Not fully convinced as yet based on what I've seen tbh but he can certainly find the net.
We know he can take players on and create space for himself too but then you wonder if that means he's better off playing deeper as a creative player.

Suppose my main concern would be whether he's gonna get manhandled and frustrated by big defenders.
But on the other hand it could be an advantage where trickery leaves them flat footed and he ends up running rings around them.

Does "deeper lying forward" mean playing behind the main striker(s) ?
If it's 4-3-3 at least he'll have more space out wide to do his thing.
Would be a bit suprised to see him up front in a 442 (especially with other strikers here) but obviously the proof is in the pudding and we'll see what happens...
