You're just bragging about how many mates you have.

Me (maybe) + 2 (unlikely) but more likely to be sat on my own listening to the commentary whilst staring at the living room wall.

Really fancy this as it won't take me long but don't think my brother can make it and I'd have to be a pretty sorry individual to go to Hyde on a Tuesday night in November to watch non-league football on my own. So probably 1.

Can I just add that the Wetherspoons near Manchester Piccadilly Station must be the worst, dingiest, scruffiest Wetherspoons I've ever been in. Can't believe that it was so packed that there were no free tables last time we went in.

Avoid that place like the plague its full of people who are best avoided. If you want a Weatherspoons there are a number of others across the city centre.

Only been in there twice. Gave it a 2nd chance after my first visit but never again. I'll be spending a few hours in Manc before the Hyde game, which pubs would you recommend that aren't too far from Piccadilly?

The City Arms is a must Les. Jump on an eccles/Media City tram to St Peters Square and its very close. Next door is The Vine which is also good and round the corner is a Wetherspoons - I think its The Waterhouse. I'm out in town for a few tomorrow so I'll check if I think on.

Only been in there twice. Gave it a 2nd chance after my first visit but never again. I'll be spending a few hours in Manc before the Hyde game, which pubs would you recommend that aren't too far from Piccadilly?

The Lass O'Gowrie, which is about a ten minute walk from the station (if that), has been voted one of the best pubs in the North West in a fair few awards this year and is a class traditional little pub. Has a great selection of beers, ciders and ales on tap and does a famous pie amongst other homemade grub.. usually has a fair few offers on during the day (will be able to get a pint for under £2) and a decent enough atmosphere at any time because of its close vicinity to the universities.

http://www.thelass.co.uk/

Can't say i've ever had any problems with that Spoons myself (although only ever in there once or two) but would agree it is very dark and always busy tho.

Also quite like the Old Monkey as well. A Holts pub on Portland.

If it was me, i'd camp and eat in the Lass and then pop into the Old Monkey, amongst a couple of others, for a swift one or two on the way back.

You staying over in Manchester then or is there an alternative route to get back? Did want to go on the train but it's never easy to get back when it comes to night games.

Sorry Andy, just seen this post. I'm going back to York after the game and staying at a mates, as trains run through the night from Manc to York and I'm coming back to Grimsby later on the Wednesday.

Guest house booked in Stockport, and it's only about 3 miles in a taxi to the ground. Will be sampling some of Stockport's finest real ales tomorrow afternoon in those 2 wonderful pubs visited before last season's game at Edgeley Park.

Only 370 at Tamworth though: amazing what a new ground and new hope can bring!

not bad for a hastily re arranged game - bet there were a fair few exiles who didn't realise it was on and would have gone

Those of you going into Manchester: try and kidnap an Ajax fan or two: make some headlines and add to our numbers!

Yeah, but mine wash's my pants and everthing: I'm not risking such pleasures until we are back in the league again!

Mine turned down the opportunity to travel to Hyde (not that she had a clue where it was) on a work night to see a Conference game.

I'll never understand women.#

Anyone going from the Leicester area? Would be willing to pay petrol money of course. And I'd agree to not talk much as I'm really annoying.
