You are partially right about MP being hard nosed businessman but the shares weren't given to the trust to cause a rift with JF.  Go back to the time line were both promised to put 500K in the club, MP honoured his whilst JF held back.  When we went on a bad run JF called in rule 9 stating that it was now Parkers club because he held more shares than him and he wasn't going to put any more money in.  This then put Parker in a position were he would be forced to buy JF's shares, if he had bought JF's shares JF would have asked for his benign loans back so it would have cost Parker £3.5 Million for a £1 million club.

Parker used his brain to lower his shares value to match JF's by losing 500K shares (the amount they both promised to fund for the season) to the trust.  He gave it to the trust with no conditions, JF on the other hand put a sleeper hold on the trust by the conditions he placed on the trust and grabbed the 200K shares he obtained through being a hard nosed businessman.

Some slate Parker but it was he who made it common knowledge that the benign loan looks bad on the books, it was him who said the boardroom doesn't work as it should and it was Parker who stated that the reason for resigning from the board was because what was promised wasn't delivered.

JF has constantly supported the club financially but he has had to because of the way he runs the club.  I want JF to be successful and take us forward but his track record is littered with major failings.  I've said in previous posts that his legacy is far from over and who would want a tag of club killer linked with them.

That's how I understood the situation.

Presumably there must be a breaking point with Fenty, did he orchestrate the whole Parker thing to try and get out or to force Parker out? In the long term is Fenty happy to drip feed the club, continually lose money hand over fist and never get it back or is his plan to sell up whenever he can and get back as much as possible when he does? Didn't he come out and say a buyer approached a while back with £10 million and he offered to walk away for a £1? But after seeking proof of the money and it not being provided Fenty blocked it, was all that made up to convince everyone? Bearing in mind where we were when his tenure began and where we are now its hard to envisage him walking away with much at all, at the same time its equally difficult to envisage an investor coming in to either buy him out or jump on board with someone with his past history with club.

I was there, the day Bradley Wood scored a 35 yarder!

From the black and white striped shirts
To the fish in the sea
You'll hear us singing
Coz we are Grimsby.

You won't hear us crying
But you'll hear us shout
Coz we are the Grimsby
And this is our chant.......... Grimsby! Grimsby! Grimsby!

Good post and the points you raise do leave us in a quandary with a feeling of limbo.

Supporting the Mighty Mariners for over 30 years, home town club is were the heart and soul is and it's great to be a part of it.

Jesus’ disciple Peter, picked up a fish to get the tribute money from it, Jesus left his thumb print on the fish, bless'ed is the Haddock.
