Lincoln City Stadium name rebranding raises 21K

The Board of Directors have approved the proposed stadium name put forward by the winners of the Name Our Stadium draw.

Supporters group The 12th Imp were the lucky winners of the draw, which took place at half-time during last Saturday's pre-season friendly against Gainsborough Trinity, and the stadium name for the 2012/13 season will be announced this Thursday, 2nd August.

Name Our Stadium raised over £21,000 for manager David Holdsworth's playing budget and the Board of Directors would like to thank everyone who supported the initiative.

I think that is quite a reasonable success, something which maybe we should do maybe for next season, abit late for the current one.

Would pay roughly half the salary of one of the regular earners I suppose.

Also if we lose 900k a year, it equates to roughly 2.3% towards that figure, every bit helps - raising 20k doing 5+ various events does make a difference.

If I'm not mistaken £21000 is better than 0. And let's not forget the publicity and increased community awareness of the club through such an idea.

What are the costs of this? Minimal. To be honest it appears to be money for old rope.

It was a good idea. If we'd thought of it first, we'd be saying it's a great idea.

Although the buy a brick scheme is a little more tangible, it's not as news worthy. Wouldn't be surprised if they get a little bit of extra publicity.

Yep, been watching town since the late 70's

Dont think i was being particularly negative. . . We achieved mid table non-league mediocrity  . (realistic?)

This season, Probably just miss out on playoffs for my money.

Having blind optimism doesnt make you more of a fan, I remember Town  when the club stretched my expectations of them and would deliver the goods against some of the best in the land!  

But, I was on about Lincoln!

It's a great idea but I have to admit it's a naff name. Then again you look at what some corporate sponsors do to stadium names and you wonder if its' not that bad after all.

Keith Alexander Stadium would have been better but if this thing is for just one year then changing it for something else in 12 months time would seem very disrespectful.
