Lincoln City Stadium name rebranding raises 21K

The Board of Directors have approved the proposed stadium name put forward by the winners of the Name Our Stadium draw.

Supporters group The 12th Imp were the lucky winners of the draw, which took place at half-time during last Saturday's pre-season friendly against Gainsborough Trinity, and the stadium name for the 2012/13 season will be announced this Thursday, 2nd August.

Name Our Stadium raised over £21,000 for manager David Holdsworth's playing budget and the Board of Directors would like to thank everyone who supported the initiative.

I think that is quite a reasonable success, something which maybe we should do maybe for next season, abit late for the current one.

I think we'd make more to be fair, not an awful lot more though. Would 21k not cover a player like Thanoj's wages for a year?

Would pay roughly half the salary of one of the regular earners I suppose.

Also if we lose 900k a year, it equates to roughly 2.3% towards that figure, every bit helps - raising 20k doing 5+ various events does make a difference.

Would want ten times that at least to change the name from Blundell Park. An average players wages for a season. Not alot for selling your soul.

If I'm not mistaken £21000 is better than 0. And let's not forget the publicity and increased community awareness of the club through such an idea.

What are the costs of this? Minimal. To be honest it appears to be money for old rope.
