Willmott tweeted he was up north yesterday.

Didn't Matt Dean sya Halifax ad said there was nothing in the McManus story.

Pretty sure we will be signing around 6 or 7 more players and I imagine there will be two or three next week as player contracts end today, so any that don't make an early decision on signing for someone won't be getting paid next month.

He also tweeted that it was a league team, so not us then!!

It is always a problem negotiating with players.

The most sought after ones will have a few clubs offering them deals and will perhaps hold out for others knowing they have a fall back position.

What do we do? Offer them more money? Don't we then end up with a situation most have moaned about for years whereby we have a team of mercanaries?

I guess we just have to make our offers, try and talk directly with the players concerned to persuade them that we are the right club for them and then sit tight. Maybe put a deadline on the decision and get alternatives lined up too.

Whichever strategy is chosen there is no guarantees that you can make early signings, despite the number of players who will be available.

IMO we need players who wont break the bank but have outstanding attitudes and are preferably at the right age. We need players who want to improve who will give everything they have got to get this club back into the league. No dipsomaniac/smackheads or lazy arses need apply!

Agree with all of the above 100% but the emboldened bit is much easier said than done!

how are we going to get player's with outstanding attitude's when one of our beloved and supposedly professional   manager's has a awful attitude, behavhoiral problem's, and scream's,swear's, shout's and behave's like a complete bell end under the slightest stress?  How can a person maintain a good attitude when one of his manager is unable to control himself on the touchline each and every week? or try andmaintain a decent attitude when it clear that your boss is absolutely clueless, and dragging the whole club down by making it look like a heap of crap by his behavior?

the answer is, you cannot. having a incompetent, out of control stress-head boss with an attitude problem would drag anyone down

Or, alternatively, you could employ someone who doesn't care and is afraid to confront fans and give an honest opinion???

Scott can be embarrassing at times, but I would rather have someone in charge who isn't scared to rule the dressing room and discipline players.

There's no instant cure for us being in this league, so we need to make the most of the dual management team currently here.

If they want to be in charge of a league team, the best way is to steer Grimsby Town back up one division, preferably this coming season!
