Just reading some of the things keeping us all interested and had an idea of a new one.

Seen as were all massive pessimists your opinion of the most amazing GTFC goal that didn't go in, or didn't count.

For me, it's definitely going to be one of either Jason Crowe's miss in the 86th or Maccas crossbar strike in the 87th minute away at Rushden and Diamonds in 2003, if either had gone in, we'd most certainly have drawn and thus stayed up. But, instead Onandi Lowe I think might have finished us off with a hat-trick.

Potentially amazing moment, but macca crashed against the bar

For me it has to be the Northampton game in our relegation under Woods season. My memory is hazy but from where I was sat; in the Lower Findus; I and many around me thought we had scored.

I was sat on the front row and my premature celebratory leap almost sent me over the hoardings.

Someone got sent off in that game if I remember correctly and we lost 2-1. For me; that game decided our season.

For me it was Marc Goodfellow at Leyton Orient on Easter bank holiday Monday

Last minute, it falls to Goodfellow from no more then 5 yards out, all he has to do is out it on target and he somehow hits the bar

He scores that and we win the game 1-0 and with only 4 games of the season left the likelyhood is we finish above Orient and get promoted

Akpro came as close to scoring as is possible early in the game at Burton. Quite how it stayed out I do't know, it may have changed the direction of that game but as Barnet won anyway it didn't matter. Mind you, that bunch of mercenaries were so poor that day it's as well we lost.

Kev Moore hitting the bar against Wolves in the League Cup quarter final in 1979. It was at the Pontoon end, we drew 0-0 eventually losing in the second replay. Wolves went on to win the cup. That cup run was amazing, brilliant times.

Tony Gallimore free kick 98/99 v Birmingham City! It was one on those that rippled the side netting. 0-0 FT If I remember rightly

Also the Wayne Burnett wonder non-goal at wembley, my half of wembley were celebrating for a good five minutes!

Lucky he ended up doing the job in the end!

Eldings volley this season must be in with a shout as one of the best non-goals too! Dodgy linesman gave him offside, would hav been a cracker.

A couple of recent dodgy Town goals.

Michael Coulson's handball goal v Bournemouth (before Colgan decided to let them have one back) and Rob Duffy's "winner" against Cambridge early last season (can we call it last season now, even though the play-off final is still to be decided) almost certainly didn't cross the line.

I know this wasn't town but could have been a different story 89-90 or was it 88-89.  Town played Exeter and I think it was either Shaun Taylor or Murray Jones that had a header from a corner cleared of the line I'm sure they protested saying it was over the line.

If you're thinking of the chance late on at the Pontoon end Meza it was Shaun Taylor who headed against the post and no protests AFAICR.In real time it was just a few seconds but time seemed to stand still and the whole of Blundell Park held it's breath. It was 1990/91 season.

It that goal had gone in the Bolton would have gone up instead of Town.

Not to worry, we'd still have gone down on goal difference (we were a point behind Chesterfield in the end).

Who knows though? Barnet played the last half hour of their game knowing they were safe. Had we been winning, the pressure would've been on them and they could've crumbled and dropped into a pit of non league doom!

Yes, they're very good at standing at the edge of the non league abyss and staring into it though

Marc North at Wimbledon in the Cup

I was convinced we'd equalised to make it 2-2 on the day only for it to be ruled out ( anyone know why?? ) and to add insult to injury they went straight up to our end of the ground and put the game beyond doubt to make it 3-1 for them

IF only we'd had it count, we'd have had a 5th round replay back at our place knowing there was a great chance of us getting to the 6th round for the first time after our exploits in the 1930s

Fatty proudlock's penalty miss away at aldershot in the last minute, he skied it over the roof.

Now based in reading, do I class as an exile yet?
