John Terry

Terry has been given permission according to the BBC to lift the trophy should Chelsea win the game.

If they win Champions League it will be in spite of Terry based on the Tuesday, not through any great help from him. If I were a Chelsea player i'd not want him being the first to lift it.

Having seen Bayern last night and a couple of other times this season and having seen plenty of Chelsea, I don't think they need to be unduly worrying themselves with who'll lift the trophy.

Not me, I will add though, I put a few quid on Chelsea winning it before the first semi  

That is reason enough for me to want Bayern to win. He could have cost his team the tie in the semi-final and they went through despite his stupid actions. His defence of the incident was laughable beyond belief and if he has an ounce of dignity he will let the captain on the day lift the trophy, the glory hogging intercourse.

Not only that. But the linesman is obviously always looking along the defensive line during the whole game. Did Terry really think that the linesman would not see it, as he constantly has Terry in his line of sight?

Lampard's defence of him since the game has been pretty cringeworthy and pathetic too if you ask me.

Taken from the Guardian. The way most papers have reported it is that Terry will be on the pitch and collecting the trophy as captain. Collecting being the key word, as that implies that the trophy is being collected from which ever UEFA official is handing it over.

Massive difference from Keane and Scholes who had to be convinced to go on the pitch after '99 as they didnt want to take away from the teams performance that day.

What a daft girl private...I'd have sacked him first thing yesterday morning. He is clearly a moron. He's made several costly mistakes this year and to be fair the one thing that helped Chelsea was the daft sod got sent off.

If they allow him to lift the trophy then it is a disgrace. The captain on the night should lift it, not terry.

I was going to write that if I was Terry I'd be embarrassed to lift the trophy. But then I remembered that I was Terry, a man who took the fifth penalty of a shootout just so I could be the brave lionhearted chest-beating hero.

Then I remembered that I'm not John Terry. Which was a relief, bank balance aside.

If Chelsea have any idea of what is fair and right they will not allow Terry to lift the trophy, otherwise it makes a joke of the sending off rules!!

So presumably when he appears in court he will think it OK to lie through his teeth in order to 'protect himself'! His assault on Sanchez was cowardly and thuggish. The man has no class whatsoever!

But the Guardian have now sarcastically taken to referring to him as EBJT - England's Brave John Terry.

The fact Chelsea are in the final and have a chance of winning it is partly down to John Terry's actions. There can be no dispute of that, its a fact.

However the win at the Nou Camp was at in spite of him and any win against Bayern, when they look like already being 2 defenders down due to injury and a yellow card (also stupidly earned by Ivanovic) will also be in spite of him.

He has every right to collect a medal - but I dont think he should be the person to 'collect' the trophy and I really hope he doesnt.

Totally agree with that but that was not my point. It was more of a point in time theory, Chelsea got the result without Terry on the pitch so therefore his sending off was a factor in them winning, as is every other detail that happened during the game that night, change the minutest detail and every subsequent event would have been altered and so could have been the overall result.
The only thing that would have remained the same is that Terry would still have been an unlikeable tw@t.
