Not sure if its ever been mentioned....but what about selling the naming rights to Blundell Park.

Loads of clubs in our league have stadium sponsors. I am sure there would be interest surely.

Would bring in a useful amount of sponsorship I would have thought.

Personally I would be against it and I will always call it Blundell Park however if it gave us funding to save us or get us promoted then so be it, UTM!

If there was any money in it, I wouldn't care. It will always be BP to me whatever it's officially called.

Maybe Conoco would buy into it?

Why would a chart topping popstar want to sponsor a non league football ground?

And he's probably still got bad memories of the 98 semi final.

Geez, isn't it bad enough other clubs have had their soul and identity bulldozed over by corporate sponsorship ?
Sod the money, the long term solution to financial diffculties isn't always "cut cut cut".
Or if it is, what happens after when the well is bare and every fundrasing idea has been visited ?
The simplest solution isn't always the best one - let's keep our dignity (at least for now) and focus on a stronger club please.

If I won half a billion like on that yankie lottery, I'd award the 1st 4000 people through the turnstiles £10,000 cash each and then bulldoze the ground to the floor.
Imagine that, a hassle-free existence without the stress, worry and continual disappointment of regular failure.
However, I wouldn't forget the fans, there would be a competition to name the remaining slag heap after the winning loyal fan.

According to their commercial brochure, GTFC are in fact looking for a partner for naming rights/sponsorship of the ground, but looking for a long term partnership for at least 5 years.

Does anyone think, considering the Findus stand is the only area that has attracted any sponsorship as far as I am aware, that the reamainder of the ground is not particularly desrirable to sponsors???

Who would sponsor the main stand? Cuprinol  What about the pontoon? Hammerite???  the place is a dump and I can't see many sponsors wanting to be associated with it.

I have just stepped in a dog-turd on Grimsby road, is anyone interested in the naming rights???

The alleged racist at BP would be a good choice:

The (insert racist's name here) dog turd sounds good to me.

I'd much rather spend my money renaming Sincil Bank or Glamford Park, much more fun for the pound and so many ideas

Get off his case... He didn't suggest the original idea of renaming BP... As for your question, because....... we're supposedly skint.....

Before people jump to conclusions im not saying we have billions but i think we have more money than the
Club is letting on
And about rebranding blundell park maybe the trust can do something about it?

What respectable company would ever want to put their name to that ramshackle dump of a stadium? On the other hand Nicole's one of the few remaining businesses in the town that seem to be doing well might be worth an approach,
Might put a few more on the gate as well if they could offer half price tickets with every massage.

histon have a excrement ground but its sponsored, york have a excrement ground but that was renamed kit kat crescent for a bit.

i think one of the probs we have is visabilty, only the findus can be seen from the main road and the railway, hence why its sponsored. whos gonna sponsor any of the other stands when there adds are only going to be seen by people in the ground on match day?

To me, it will always be Blundell Park, but if theres a chance of bringing in sponsorship (it could help aid the youth team coffers) then I think it certainly needs to be considered.

Like already mentioned, many clubs do it now at all levels of football. It would mean ., of course, that all media reporting would be required to mention the rebranded name when reporting on the club.

Not sure how we would stand with Hullberside though, cant imagine them saying ' there been a goal at Pleasure Island Park' without wanting a cut.
