False Imprisonment??

is it legal for their chairman to prevent fans exiting the ground without police authority! Is it false imprisonment or did he act on police advice. If he detained the fans without appropriate authority then surely he breached the law and individual human rights! Interesting IMO ?

tbh ticker,i approached in a calm manner the steward at the other side of the 6ft steel fence and his exact words to me was"we have been told bye the ground safety officer to keep you in for 20 mins"when i asked to speak to the safety officer he changed his tune and radioed for back up!by that time more town fans had got to the gate and heard about been kept in!it was a quick decision,but the right one to unlock the gate myself while others distracted him,when i got outside the police were quick to respond by saying that they thought the club were wrong for trying to keep town fans behind and told us to report it to the fa,they said it had never happened before at the club and they said they advised the club not to do it!it seems fleetwood just did it because it was grimsby!!

I cant understand why town -fleetwood would be a major security problem though

Last season, we took a very big crows to Fleetwood on a Saturday afternoon, and they didn't do it then. Why last night with a much smaller crowd?
