Just been shoved in the chest by Ryan Shawcross in the tunnel at half time.

They think he was instrumental in getting Delap sent off.He knows how to wind people up.

Expecting a tasty second half.

The man is a joke. He constantly makes himself look a twit. He was asked to leave the players lounge after the hull game and seems to just want to 'out shout' and wind people up. The sad thing is it often backfires on him. I dont think there is a more hated man in football...

His 'championship' team have done well today...deluded jock twit

Horrible little fat twit, should have been banned from the game years ago. Hope Pulis smacks him one after the game. Someone will one day.

2-0 Stoke FT

Impressed with Stokes defending. Despite the missing man they've had someone throwing themselves in front of every shot. And a nice handball off the line from them in added time to burst a blood vessel of Evans, hopefully.

Cameron Jerome had one (rightly) disallowed for offside.

"I think we're unfortunate to go out this year. I think I probably take it harder this year than I did going out at Manchester United.

"That is because I have looked at the footage and highlights of the key incidents that have changed this game today.

"I can't help but be disappointed by the match referee. I think from a second-half perspective, he has had a poor game for me and he is normally a very good referee."

I take it he's ignoring the sending off that was gifted to them. I know most managers are like this occasionally, but he says this kind of crap every week, win or lose

You can't deny our man has serious anger management problems surely ?

That's why he's currently sitting in the stand and why he made a total prat of himself shouting at a fan in the Pontoon

They might be embarrassing in slightly different ways but Evans and our bloke are very similar in that respect (the major difference between 'em is about 6 stones)

I thought they were unlucky, they had a clear penalty denied in the 1st half, the Stoke penalty was a joke and how the ref missed the handball on the line near the end I will never know, crap linesman (or woman) perhaps?

As for the sending off, lunged in with studs showing and at one point both feet off the ground, when will they ever learn?

Former Mariner Wes Parker tweeted that Evans shouted at his left winger instructing him to effing break Parker's legs.

Parker was aged 17 at the time and the game was a pre-season friendly.

Scott admits he needs to control is emotions during games. The difference is he does not spout off in a club lounge. He does not goad other management to the extreme of Evans and in interviews he comes across as a human who cares about his team, the state of football and the human element of accepting defeat.

Evans regularly brings the game into disrepute and time after time he has escaped punishment as The FA seem scared of how to punish him.

Alan Rutter did the best move by ejecting him from Blundell Park as he was constantly effing and jeffing and also making gestures to the Main Stand, well so I believe.

Scott has improved on his media side. He comes across as honest, polite and a man with a great footballing heart.

Can this be said of Evans who was proved to be making illegal payments to players, staff and also was proven to acted in a way to evade paying HMRC. These payments managed Boston to attract players and win promotion via cheating their opposition. Ask Daggenham fans what they feel about Evans and I am sure very few would hold back from stating their opinions of him.

As marinerian said, there's just no comparison. Scott needs to calm it, and he;s the first to admit it. But he's still a young manager. It's only recently that Ferguson has begun giving the BBC after match interviews after he fell out with them. Contractually obliged to give them, he preferred to ignore them and pay a weekly fine. After a few years of this the club got fed up and made him back down. Now that to me is embarrassing, as is Evans behaviour. Scott is hardly the first manager to regularly take the stands as part of a touchline ban. He's also courteous and honest in his appraisal of the opposition.

As I've said before, he needs to keep it in check but right now I'm just relieved to have him( and his behaviour ) and not some old soak, or some member of the management-failure merry go round or the clown in charge of Lincoln.
I never understood the dislike of Buckley, his lack of PR and fan relationship and all that, and I'd estimate that Scott's detractors number a lot less than the Buckley bashers. We're on the up at last, and it takes some effort right now to find actual things that are not right on the player and management front.

I just get very p!ssed off with the constant attacks on the same people Hughes, Fry, Evans et al all the time.

Why do we dislike these guys so much. Are there no others we could get fixated with?

FFS its a long time since Evans managed one of our local rivals so that can't still be used as an excuse. Perhaps we are jealous of Crawley's progress - I sure wish it was GTFC.

As for 'evading' paying HMRC, GTFC 'avoided' paying HMRC the PAYE they had collected for some time too, resulting in the big tax bill we had to pay off. The difference is we p!ssed our avoided tax down the drain winning relegations with poor signings and even worse managers while Boston used it to buy promotion to the Football League

Leave the poor fat tvvat alone.

There was the small matter of paying star signings low wages that were bumped up by remarkable high "expenses". The whole management of the club was in on it at the time and no-one can think that Evans was not party to this little charade.

He is a good manager. He gets the best out of players, spends wisely and he knows his stuff in the lower leagues. That doesn't give him to right to constantly mouth off at other managers, players and officials though, which he does to seek unfair advantage. Many will remember Barry Fry was very similar in his younger days at Barnet.

This article sums up why so many people hate Evans:
"the club was found guilty by an FA disciplinary committee of systematically lodging false contracts for players. The ploy was a simple one. Players signed contracts that were worth a fraction of the value of what they were being paid.
Ken Charlery was recorded as being paid £120 per week when he was actually being paid £620 per week and had received a £16,000 signing on fee for the club, against which no tax had been paid. In another, the former Liverpool defender Mike Marsh was contracted as being paid £100 per week when he was actually earning £1,000 per week. The difference was paid through “expenses”, against which no tax was payable".

Evans even "facilitated a payment of £8,000 to a witness to attempt to mislead, impede and frustrate” the FA’s enquiry into the scam".

Town never illegally avoided paying their tax. As for Evans, he's a total bent crook and should have been banned for life from football management!

So the club broke the rules and he must have known about it - so what?

Is that a reason to continue to dsilike the man years afterwards or are we just p!ssed off that we didn't think of it / couldn't afford to do it

Ipswin has clearly not followed Evans career like most on this thread.    To repeat the summing up by Graham Bean FA Investigator,  Evans was the common denominator to all that whent wroung in what should have been Bostons hour of glory.
As for Evans wise spending ,  what financial position did he leave his former clubs Holbeach and Stamford in ?
Here at Boston his claims made about fees received for sold players amount to £500K income .
Yet when he left we were £3.5millon in debt.  plus the high court ruled that we underpaid tax.
All this adds up to the fact during his time at Boston we got though in excess of £4millon .
When he came to Boston we were in the what is now the southern league , when he left thanks to him and his cronies we were effectively demoted to the Unibond , the same level as when he first arrived.    All this at the cost of £4millon .
A man who bought shame to BUFC and football and showed no remorse to the people of Boston for the mess he left the club in .

I have to say I have better things to do than follow the career of a previously unknown lower league manager.

As far as Boston's 'hour of glory' is concerned, however false that 'hour of glory' was it only happened at all because of Evans

Why shouldn't your team be left in the sh!te by an outgoing manager - it's happened at Blundell Park for years

My point is that Grimsby Town fans, who unlike Boston fans have no axe to grind with Evans, seem totally fixated by him. and every time he appears on TV or in the news it spawns another vitriolic thread slating him off

Totally agree with you. I made the "spending wisely" comment in a football sense - he has built teams well. (if somewhat illegally )

I knew  a lad from Stamford at uni. He hated Evans and would not have shared a tear if he had died. He said (2002) police were looking into Stamfords financial situation and warned several of us about Evans.

The man is as corrupt and as unsporting as they come.

You are right Iswin , Evans delivered our "hour of glory" sadly it was by cheating and spending money we had not got .
Most forums up and down the land vent their anger towards him .

Must add that no way should Rob Scott be compared with this man .   Scott may get carried away with emotion at times but is a hounourable man.

Looking forward to hearing his excuses after another defeat tonight.

No doubt he'll moan that the winning goal was a foul but the bloke just used his strength in my opinion. Nothing wrong with it at all.

And to be fair to him he conducted himself in the post-match interview well. If
his side continue to play as they did tonight with a fair share of luck thay will be
thereabouts at the end of May.

Not a likeable man but gets the best out of his players.
