He was wrongly punished because what he said was taken wildly out of context. The FA chose to ignore evidence given by linguistic evidence to show what the word 'negrito' means and the context it is used in South America. They also ignored evidence given by Antonio Valencia saying that Suarez's words were not racist in their nature. They ignored the fact that Evra a) admitted that what was said wasn't racist and b) that he himself had racially abused Suarez in the same match. The FA based their decision on Evra's evidence being 'more likely to be true' which is frankly laughable.


Whether or not they were right in finding him guilty is a matter of opinion (though for the record I don't think they were but thats a whole different can of worms) but he was found guilty so was punished as he should have been.

To be fair, it looks like Evra only lifted his hand up once Suarez had walked past him. Please watch the footage again and watch Evra's hand before you comment.

They're all a bunch of tossers anyway and I'm no Liverpool or Man Utd fan.

I think most players in the top divison are. There are a few exceptions but most of them appear to be spoilt and self indulgent.

Can't stand the soap opera and the way most teams/players play the game, the over-hyped media coverage, and the standard really isn't that great. The Premier League holds almost zero interest for me these days; only found out the Chelsea-Man U score last night.
