Talking up all his players, even 16 year old wonder kids. A long interview.   He said Bennett and his other CB were as good as any CB pairing in the country! Let us hope that a Prem club agrees.

Haven't Peterborough conceded more than most in their league over the last few seasons since Bennett went there?

Ryan Bennett is by far overrated, was average here and unbelievable he's a championship player even if it is for Peterborough who concede fck loads of goals.

I glad the fishy football genii have cast their views on Bennett and decided he's actually a bit excrement. I was starting to believe it when Alan Buckley, Neil Woods, Barry Fry and Darren Ferguson all said he was half decent.
We should all be talking him up, we ain't got no facking money!!!

Barry fry is an idiot. A fat useless idiot. He doesn't have a clue in reality.

Their back our is woeful in footballing terms. Conceded shed loads of goals and have done for a whole. If they get cash for Ryan then fair play but would sign a defender from a team that concedes at least 1 goal a game? That said tere are scouts from Liverpool, manure, Chelsea to name a few loom at centre halfs and midfielders at today's game.

Fry is an utter member, I once ran the line at the City Ground for a friendly when he was at Brum. He didn't once shut up even though it was only a friendly. However, he's pretty good at wheeler dealing in the game so let's hope he manages to get a decent price in for RB. Just cos he's a member, doesn't mean he is a bad judge of a player.

Bennett was a rock for us but as previously pointed out on this thread, Posh have conceded excrement loads of goals this season and I canot for the life of me understand why any Prem Club would be coming in for him.As for today he looks like a poor mans Terry Butcher - wise up he is not good enough for the Premiershite

I do not think it is purely down to Ryan Bennett as to why Posh concede so many goals. Anyone who had just watched the game should see their attacking shape. Both fullbacks bomb on, practically as wingers, and leave the back line exposed. They leave two CBs and a holding mid and are so open.

I think people underestimate what Bennett was when he was here. He was only 17/18 and still learning the game. He has bags of potential, and when he was here he was solid. I do agree with the fact that he wasn't a stand out player, but he was solid at the back. Anyone who saw the games towards the end of season when Newell kept us up that he was outstanding.

Watching that game just on tv and again I thought he had a good game. He has definitely improved since leaving us, so I don't understand why our fans are against him.

I was a little disapointed today after watching Ryan, perhaps the whole team were wary playing a premiship team,  but even allowing for that their defence were poor.

You have to to imagine how he would fare against the more potential strikers in the Prem, lets hope Fry can sell sand to the Arabs

Here's something to consider - maybe the defence let goals in because the team is set up in a very attacking formation with little cover from the rest of the team, or maybe they need to sign Manny Panther to close down the space in front of them? Just a possibility you understand. I don't hear anyone saying Bradley Wood is 5h1t because he's part of a defence that let's a few in.

I watched the game today too and I honestly think Ryan looked very composed. He also played a couple of beautiful and pin point accurate 60 yard passes out to the left wing which you honestly don't see from too many central defenders outside the premier league. He could not be  faulted on either Sunderland goal and he made a number of saving challenges and clearances, so I'm not sure what game some of you chaps were watching. I could definitely see him getting a chance to step up.

Yeah I watched the game on and off and every time I saw Bennett he seemed very composed... Like you say couldn't be faulted for the goals...

On the evidence of the tosh you normally post on here, I expect Ryan to be at a top Premier club shortly and an England regular by the next World Cup.

I was impressed with Bennett. Peterborough never played well and imo the players around him were out of their depth although Fry reckoned it was due to injuries.
He isnt the finished article but at 21 there arent many players who are better and I expect he'll move to a bigger club soon.

Christ you all wanted him sacked a few months ago. 6th place finish and he's now the messiah and can do no wrong
Update:  I think I've got this right - He was the messiah. He then wasn't. He then was again. Then it turned out he actually wasnt. He turned into one big huge messiah again. Now he's not actually the messiah we thought he was . Now I'm hoping he rises again quickly

Both goals were quality deliveries by Larsson, second due to the guy with the hairband just letting McClean walk away. He looked a right lazy tw@t.

I was at the game and thought Bennett looked very composed and that he did well.

Both the Sunderland goals came from set pieces and both were down to Larssen who was really impressive. James MacLean was really impressive - is he English - I hope so!

Bennett looked to be their best player today and was on the end of nearly everything they threw at their defence. He will move on to a bigger club soon IMO.
