A debut single which in your opinion is either the best ever debut single of all time or the pinnacle of that particular artists releases...one hit wonders need not apply!!

both on a new comp cd i got for xmas !!

Gutted, started this thread with two crackers in mind and on double checking neither were the first singles !! Lol.

I was going to say "Are Friends Electric" by Tubeway Army/Gary Numan but they actually released 3 singles before which didn't chart.

Two other bands who I don't think better their debut singles were Epsom Mad Funkers (EMF) with Unbelievable and Neds Atomic Dustbin with Kill Your Television.

The Neds did release an EP before but KYT was their first actual single release.
