Glad to see I'm so fondly remembered!

No mention of Ross Castle?

Agree with Paddy, the old batho was superb, the largest outdoor swimming pool in the country. Used to love sitting on the fountains and bouncing up and doon creating huge splashes. The slide used to burn yer bottom though!

The clocktower above "under the clock"

The general architecture in Sea View Street.

The old Clee Park pub building. Not Jock the owner though, ex police and top miserable sod!

Memorial Hall, not necessarily a great building, but what it was built for.

No attempt at ethical or social seduction can eradicate from my heart a deep burning hatred of the Tory party. So far as I'm concerned they're lower than vermin. Aneurin Bevan.

The batho concrete had some very sharp edges and I always seemed to cut myself on them. There was a hot dog barrow selling Westlers dogs which when you're six or seven seemed quite nice. The batho always seemed like a sun trap (but it would to a kid) and I used to spend most days of the summer hols there. Such a shame that it is no more.

Do you remember a small theatre type building that was opposite the batho and also opposite the Winter Gardens? I may be imagining it but I'm sure they used to put on shows for kids.

Remember Daily Mirror pushball contests on the beach in the Summer?

God, I'd forgotten all this. I lived very near to the Winter Gardens and the Lifeboat and was awake most nights as I could hear the bands playing. Happy days!

Well apart from my love of Cleethorpes Pier and all piers,my other favourite landmarks are the Bus depot,The Odeon(mcdonalds Victoria St),and the Yarborugh hotel(Wetherspoons)

So the service is crap, you don't eat there often but because it's got some awards on the wall it's quite nice? Remember, Crazy Frog got to number one in the charts...

Yep, don't think service affects the tastiness of the food. I said I haven't had it often because perhaps the quality is variable, so when you had it it might not have been all that nice. Whenever I've had it it's been great, and I don't think takeaways/restaurants win multiple regional and national awards if they're dodgy.

Well the charts have always been a yardstick of quality, only cynics would say that they're merely a measure of the success of each respective marketing campaign,!

Now you're talking!

The terrace of Edwardian houses nicknamed "Spectacle Row". Is it Abbey Road?

Yes!

VERY good call
