I rated him as a decent manager, likewise Grant McCann who also did well there. Unfortunately, to use a pun, they were not a Turkish Delight.
Time will tell whether these decisions were well thought out but I reckon the tiggers have reached the limit of their ambitions and are on the way down. |

We certainly have to spend the budget wisely and how to balance that with quality in the right areas is the acid-test. DA implied that we need 11 or 12 new additions but how that is composed is the issue. Do we go for 4 or 5 quality, well-paid players in key areas and balance that with steady Lg 2 regulars plus one or two young "potentials"? It's this situation that reminds me of when I first started seriously watching town 1965/66 season. We were in Div 3 and, due to economic reasons, dispensed with a reserve team. For most of the time the team was picked from only a core of 15 players and one of those changes was when our regular keeper, Charlie Wright left with 40 league and cup appearance

Fantastic news. With the progression he’s overseen and the Championship looking like it will be considerably weaker next season I was resigned to him leading them to promotion next season. Thankfully the owner has thrown that possibility away.
It’s highly probable that he’ll be in the PL before Hull City.
Could these Turks in charge there take them to disaster ? Don't know the backstory tbh but bigger clubs seemingly go down to league 1 year on year so will be an interesting one to keep an eye on nrxt season . I don't know how 7th isn't a good finish for them with the financial power in that league ; especially with the parachute payments . The game really has gone mad .
