wow, there was some slick play on show there!
Have to agree and whilst I was at the game I didn’t appreciate that the move for our second goal started back near our goal line on the left hand side. My excuse being that I was in the main stand right next to where Green spun to beat his man ( me and the boy thought he slipped initially and that helped his turn) and lay it off to JDS to score in style. Not being a Greeny fan I was in shock hence the previous build up play eluded the noggin. Keep saying it but there are some real signs of a half decent team this season.

It is dated and not very original to sing to Brighton fans “we can see you holding hands”.
Tommy Docherty was sacked as manager of a Man United for having an affair with a club official, Mary Brown. Opposition fans sang “whose up Mary Brown”.

I have heard the ripper chant at least three times so far this season from a very small minority. As a proud Yorkie and fervent Town supporter I enjoyed the Yorkshire slums, we hate Yorkies chants etc during the nineties when we were regularly playing against the big Yorkshire teams and I even joined in. Anyone that sings the ripper chant is either completely uneducated or an absolute scumbag. I have grown up and lived my entire life in the part of Yorkshire that that evil illegitimate terrorised. My mum and sister were literally terrified to leave the house alone for years and were not able to live a normal life. For me this is far worse than the tragedy chanting that Liverpool fans bleat on about and I would urge any decent Town fan to call out the idiots that appear to have re-instigated this vile piece of filth from what is usually our fun and amusing Yorkie banting antics.

Well said. It's the chant of the knuckle draggers.

If the final line of the verse was a bit more accurate, "He murdered women", they might perhaps think about it a bit more before singing it?

Absolutely. If I react negatively to this brainless chant because I have 'Yorkshire' daughters, daughters in law and granddaughters, then I too am missing the point. Anyone who defends this chant should read up about the details of the night he was caught, the weapons he hid and how he was dressed. I pass that spot in Sheffield regularly on the way to see my grandkids. Most of the Ripper victims were from around the Bradford area so what must their fans think of us?

Very worst of the chants from Grimsby fans makes me cringe every time I hear it. Partly because it is just cruel in a way that should not be associated with sport and partly because of the stupidity of those singing it. I would have them thrown out for singing this. Utm
