I'm curious to see the results of this poll if it is redone, once the transfer window is closed, to see if there is any significant difference.

That is not the point, of course if you are under pressure you hoof the ball clear,  what I asked to those who say we shouldn't play out from the back, is what is the alternative, hoof ball?

Well Town aren't set up for Hoofball as they don't have tall target men.  I'm not sure we have fully safe short tiki-taka confident players either.  So I don't know where that leaves us. Hope-Ball?

My opinion is that Jordan Wright is the problem with us playing out from the back.  The last two games I watched, in full he doesn't appear to be able to control the ball with one touch when it's played back to him, it looked like he was taking 2 or 3 touches to bring the ball under control which then enabled the opponents to close down our defenders.  It may not have been every time, but as far as I can remember, it was quite often, he just doesn't look confident with the ball at his feet.

I think that when he first came to us, one of the Lincoln fans that posts on here said the very same thing, that his footwork let him down.

Anyway, being as old as I am, maybe some of that stuff isn't remembered correctly, and I will stand corrected if that is so, but I will be keeping a close eye on Saturday to see just who is causing us problems at the back.  UTM!

Maybe just try and enjoy the game a bit, in the first instance?

On this one I fear Ruuger may be right for once it only needs one misplaced short pass from the goalkeeper for the whole playing it out back from the strategy to go up in flames and there have been several warnings on this from Wright in the pre season games.

Looked at the Mansfield forum yesterday and there were comments that “Grimsby’s keeper is going to cost the goals this season”. Referring to playing out, not shot stopping

Wasn’t impressed by Wright at all against York, SS and Mansfield (the games I’ve seen). Gather he was brought in on Croudson’s recommendation who might be under a bit of pressure for this keeper signing to be a success given his last recommendation was Cartwright…

If….and it’s a big if, we sign Davies, Luker and Charlie Kirk, then we have a decent squad.
