As much as I agree with you about his posts, I have to say that he has the right to post his opinions whether we agree with them or not, and God knows, I have disagreed with just about all of them, however he has the right to post his opinions and I do not think he has posted anything on here that warrants him being banned.

Didn’t vote as I’m not anti women, but we shouldn’t restrict freedom of speech even if some use it to spew what Id consider utter bilge.

The sad thing about this is that if everybody ignored him (and other obvious trolls),
they’d soon stop posting.  There would be no need to think about bans.  
But there are always some that help replying.  Ooohhhh, I can’t let them say that.

I totally agree friskneymariner. Whoever posted this poll should be ashamed of themselves for trying to ban freedom of speech. Something our forefathers and some of us more recently have fought for in HM Forces for many years.

The ironic thing is that many are ex service men and Union Jack wavers,who fought to preserve freedom of speech.The last thing the English Defence League are fighting for are British Values. It is the social media values of piling on anybody who doesn't agree. The tactics of the playground bully.

For those who weren’t aware there was a post by the little green fella which was promptly deleted by the mods due to its misogynistic content. That’s what led to the poll with the reference to hating women in the question alternative.

Freedom of speech does not come with freedom from responsibility. This seems to be very readily forgotten by some, who start yelling "freedom of speech" the moment they are challenged on something they've said or written

I think there’s two errors in there. Firstly, freedom of speech DOESN’T come with freedom of responsibility, that would imply that we can simply say what we want, how we want with scant regard towards others. Words have the ability to inflict damage just as much - albeit in a different way - to how fists can, sometimes with longer lasting impact. Ultimately, everyone is responsible for what they say and carrying the consequences of when they overstep a mark.

Secondly, this poll wasn’t to suggest banning Yoda based on football content, it was relating to misogynistic comments. Granted I didn’t read them so can’t comment on how severe I would have viewed it but clearly it was enough for 70+ people to feel he’d overstepped the mark. Much as his footballing contributions are negative and tiresome after time and he gets pelters for being miserable, no-one has ever suggested banning him for this.

What I’ve found ironic reading through this is those who quote the defence of free speech are often the ones who promote the negative view. They’re also suggesting those who voted yes are snowflakes who need to be able to take differing views and for not accepting other views are supposedly bullies. Yet from my time on this forum, the so called ‘snowflakes’ are the ones who engage in rational discussion, consider alternative views and debate their opposing view. The free speech defenders are often the ones who tend to accuse anyone with something remotely positive as the rose tinted brigade who dont have a clue about football and at times also get a little personal.

If I’m not mistaken there are rules associated to the board which outline the responsibilities of each poster and every user has agreed to those, just something to consider.

This whole thread epitomises just how poor ‘the fishy’ has become.  
It used to be a fun board with give and take banter and some cracking regular posters.
Now, far too many threads go off topic or get hijacked by those with a political agenda (from both sides).  
Bring on the red crosses if it makes you feel better.

Yes, The Rules are clear to see and Yoda has crossed the line with his mysogeny. I trust he has had a warning. If only our mods were a little quicker on some of the bullying which takes place from all sides.

In truth, the poll itself was a piece of trolling which Yoda himself might have been proud of. A better moderated board might have more female and junior members?
