If you replace "normal" with "down to earth" then it all fits in.

Problem solved

Look up the meaning of "normal"   Normal does not apply to him as far  as hs career and wealth are concerned. A normal working Grimsby person is not of the upper class who reads The Guardian he is most likely middle to lower class who reads The Sun or The Mirror

Why would he not be a normal worker? His wealth isn’t normal but he achieved it by working, it wasn’t handed to him, he didn’t have riches behind him and from his recent interview he spent some years working in a call centre before making a few decisions that altered the trajectory of his life.

He’s just as much a ‘normal’ worker as anyone else, who can equally make a decision, take a gamble on something and end up in a completely different space with regards their personal wealth and lifestyle it may afford.

I could also be wrong but I interpreted the post about a friend being in the audience as a counter to some suggestion that the crowd was rigged with people who fit a certain agenda (might be ad libbing that last part). My wife also knows some woman who went too, the sister of a friend.

And it really is as simple as that everyone, glad we've cleared that up now.

I don’t know what’s funnier: the Guardian being an upper class paper or thinking that anyone from the upper class would have anything to do with GTFC.

The funniest part of this is the idea that someone born on the Nunny is upper class.

Didn't he live on the Nunny as well? He didn't live anywhere fancy for his formative years, that's for sure.

I wouldnt read it myself but wouldnt judge a person who does read the sun or any other publication, people are free to read whatever they wish.

I’m absolutely on board with people having the freedom to do whatever they please, provided it’s within the boundaries of basic decency. But buying and reading The Sun really begins to test those boundaries.

If they’re not publishing outright and hugely damaging lies about the greatest footballing tragedy in British history then they’re busy hacking the phone of a murdered schoolgirl, and if they’re not doing any of that shít, they’re quite at home racially abusing high-profile footballers or ruining multiple people’s lives in a single hit, with or without the necessary evidence to back up their claims.

It’s a cesspit of bile and misinformation, with a deliberate intention to incite, divide and misdirect. There is absolutely nothing of value to be found there no matter your social class, political persuasion or level of intelligence.

People are free to read it, outside of the Liverpool post code area at least, but my original point stands - they really shouldn’t.

Fúck The Sun.

A smooth sea never made a skillful mariner.
