First half was the toughest we've faced so far this summer.  Peterborough controlled the game and at times we couldn't get near them.  Like BigChris I couldn't understand their mentality when it came to time-wasting and trying to con the referee, absolutely pathetic in pre-season.  Couple of very late tackles too, one especially that caught Pearson was just pure spite.

Second half we were a different team, roles reversed and it was Peterborough who couldn't keep up with us.  The movement in the final third has been an absolute joy to watch this pre-season and whilst I appreciate it's a different type of opposition in the Conference, no team will live with that if we can re-produce in the season itself.

For me Arnold has cemented his place as one of the strikers, we looked a hundred times better when he plays down the middle.  As good as Amond has looked, I fear he could be the one to miss out as he and Arnold may be too similar.  I don't think they've played together as a pairing yet either.  Personally I wouldn't mind seeing them together.

Monkhouse - yes he slows the game down but there will be plenty of occasions when we need that.  

For me the starting line-up should be:

McKeown
Toto
Tait
Gowling
Pearson
Mackreth
Marshall
Clay
Disley
Amond
Arnold


Bogle will be eased into the season rather than chucked straight in.  Seems he's struggling a bit in stepping up to full-time training, which is always a risk when signing players from part-time football.  


I agree Arnold has been playing exceptionally well but we also have to acknowledge how well Pittman has done, works well with Armond, scores goals and looks quick and fit. I think Arnold will start on the left with the licence to come inside. Also Marshall for me has had some good games in pre-season and seems determined to get into the team. When on form just edges it over Jack for the right side slot.
