Main talking point is the officials, terrible!!
Very soft penalty, soft free kick that led to their second goal. Didn't seem to know what a fair tackle was, every time a player got touched he assumed it was a foul.
They kept the ball well as you would expect, but didn't venture forward a lot, were as we were more direct. They kept all 11 behind the ball & tried to break on us.
In the end there was only one team trying to win it.
We wasted some good chances, mainly Hannah, strange that when Hearn was a threat he kept scoring, now he's injured, he can't put away his chances.

Been disappointed with Hannah since he came on a permanent. He's a trier but he misses far too many important chances during a game. Time to give Cook and run alongside The Shop.

Could they play together or do we need a new striker in ?

Its very rare that I post when I just get home from a game, HOWEVER, that referee and his linesmen were a disgrace to the uniform they wear. How can a guy from Middlesborough referee a team from Newcastle and be fair?
The linesman gave a corner for the referee to over rule and give a penalty. Aswad never even touched the guy, then the decisions became weirder and weirder throughout the game

Watched the replay in the bar at half time. Definite penalty for me. Went with the wrong foot.
We have the double whammy at the moment of conceding too many and the strikers not scoring at the other end. Hannah has no pace so tries to steal a march and is invariably offside. The shop just isn't good enough, full stop.
Teams aren't really getting behind us, but are scoring goals somehow. Own goals, penalties, long range shots is where we are conceding. The biggest worry though is the final third. the strikers just aint looking like scoring.

I personally think Cookie can play alongside John-Lewis. Since he's been at the club he's been utilised as a target man - but that isn't his game. In the past he's only really ever played off another striker, e.g. Adam Boyes at Barrow. He has goals in him, and sadly Hannah huffs and puffs but doesn't blow down enough houses.

Lets give it a try then Mr Hurst.

Today exactly why we need another striker in - As much as Ross tries he's just not doing it as often as we need at the moment - God impact player but we talky need someone with a bit of pace and strength to play off Lenny/Cookie! Birchall would be ideal for me!
