After years of mediocre/rubbish managers these two are proving themselves to be exceptional. Enjoy them whilst they are here because they will be in demand elsewhere in the future.

I fully agree with you  even though someone on here called me a silly name for saying it earlier in the season,

BUT

Some posters can only see the last game and they forget what they have said in the past.

Not exceptional yet but they're not bad.

And a lot better than we have had for a season or five.

I was there, the day Bradley Wood scored a 35 yarder!

From the black and white striped shirts
To the fish in the sea
You'll hear us singing
Coz we are Grimsby.

You won't hear us crying
But you'll hear us shout
Coz we are the Grimsby
And this is our chant.......... Grimsby! Grimsby! Grimsby!

Hallelujah!

Well no-one can say for sure they wouldn't have taken him off anyway.
If you ask me think they probably would cos obviously they were concerned about the middle.
So if they did someone would have to be sacrificed and my money would then be on Joebeck.
Hey ho we'll never know...

Just one point barra about my other post.
Were you trying to get at the point that in hindsight it might have been better to start with Disley and Niven instead of Disley and Thanoj ?
If so I see your point and you may well be right, but guess it came down to the fact Hurst talked about putting teams on the back foot in the MP preview after our slow starts so wanted to field a more attacking Thanoj ?

Doesn't it happen a little too often though?

Excellent question !

Perhaps it depends which way you look at it.

Certainly there's a case (and a fear) a middle two (especially with Thanoj) "can't cope" defensively so to speak.
So from that perspective yes, we should be able to have players who can cope for 90 mins - so it's a concern IMO.

On the other hand they're flexible and have got a number of different options up their sleeve they can switch to or fall back on.

If you ask me, both are true.

But mainly, just think we've seen a number of slow starts which have led to a number of early tactical changes.
So generally conclude it's the slow starts that are the main underlying problem/trigger which often change our outlook to the game.
e.g. Niven coming off at Hyde for the more attacking Thanoj.

Actually...
Quite interesting we were more effective going more attacking minded at Hyde yet at home to Woking we needed to bring on a more defensive minded midfielder to help control the game.

Can anyone out there offer a possible explanation ?...

Blimey, as far as selection for Braintree goes it's certainly still all up for discussion !

I remember similar comments such as "Woods will keep us up" or "Woods is the man to get us back up"

They haven't won anything yet with us except equal our lowest ever finish in the football pyramid.

If they get us up, fantastic, but there is still a long way to go.

PS there have been a few games where they haven't been exceptional.
