A game that was consistent with most of this season, interrupted by 2 decent goals.

DA will needs to keep only 7 to 9 of this squad and needs to do major route canal surgery.

As the season closes and the disappointment and frustration of this season begins to fade over the summer, I know my hopes will rise once again with the inevitable new signings that will be announced and the over optimism that follows as every new season approaches.

This will all be embraced again.

I shall be back again next season, as this is the way it is as a supporter.

My fingers are crossed and soon it will be here we go again.

Not the worst season but certainly in the bottom 10 of the last 40 perhaps.

But Grimsby till I die is just that.

In all honesty Swindon gave the impression that they would much rather Grimsby retain league status as opposed to Sutton. They went through the motions and the number 5 had more touches in the first half then most get in a season.

Was amazed at the starting line up and didn’t think Wood should have started as he’s shown his best qualities coming on with 20 minutes to go. Spent the first 60 minutes giving my brother ear ache as to why we would select a youngster in a game of this magnitude when we had a guy on the bench with 250 plus league appearances under his belt. Swindon offered little and our attack was pretty toothless until we actually scored two quality goals and then with good movement and passing from Khouri, Andrews and Ainley we played our best football but in reality Swindon weren’t offering much resistance. Great tackle from Maher near the end to help keep a clean sheet but Eastwood didn’t have one shot to save did he?

Please don’t fall into the trap of semi decent performances from players today mean they are worth keeping we need a wholesale clear out with some of the better players being squad players next season.

In reality today all that mattered today was getting the points required that was done and we can all now relax for a few weeks before the merry go round starts again!,

Celebrate the 3 points but that's about it. Started bright but after about 25 mins and some wasted chances we regressed and looked sluggish.
Swindon didn't look that @rsed about really going for it but moved the ball about comfortably.....game petered out to nothing until the triple substitution... livened us up in the middle and Ainley showed some good composure and awareness....pretty much his first touch played in Smith and ....SMASH! season over.
Wilson lovely strike for the second , glad he got one as really wasn't given a great deal to feed off otherwise.

Invaluable 3 points taken from a team that really looked disinterested but all too late to convince me that most of the squad shouldn't be binned off.

A felt a bit sorry for Wood. He's a long way off being ready for men's football and his touch let him down today. I think he was probably overwhelmed by the pressure of the day.

Ainley looked like a footballer, Andrews did a really good job when he came on as well, winning tackles against their quick right-back and giving him something to think about.

Great finish by Smith (who I think would be worth keepin) and a really good one from Wilson as well. He did a decent job today, but I think the missed chances this season and lack of ability to retain possession if the ball isn't straight at him, make me happy to see him leave (which I think is likely). I'm still not convinced Green is ultimately good enough with the ball at his feet, but he's put in some decent performances over the past month, which might earn him a deal.

Lots of work to do in the summer, but at least the last game isn't going to be a stressful occasion!

I don’t with his grealish esc shin pads , strutting around , crap touch  and trying to top bin every shot like a superstar.  Learn the basics .

It's a shame that Wilson seems keen to move on. I thought he was a real pest today. Led the line well alone having to feed off little quality. Great finish as well.

Poor game, poor teams, up until the first goal it looked like the game plan was “get in the final 3rd & make it up as you go along”.

Only real pieces of quality was Ainley’s pass and Smith’s finish.

Wilson's finish was better. Keeper got a touch on the first and could've saved it.

But he didn’t save it did he? Striker scores from distance under no real pressure from defenders, right back takes quality pass, in on goal & slots home showing strikers how to score, well that’s how I saw it.

Wilson is the biggest flat track bully I’ve seen in a Town shirt for ages.

Sorry but his goal was a belter. Right in the corner and moving all over the place so the keeper stood no chance. He’s plenty good enough to stay, hope he does.

Was right behind them both and from what I saw the second was miles better. Smith's only went near the corner from the touch off the keeper, still did well to get it in though.

I agree with the showing strikers how to score bit. Wilson should've buried that earlier chance that he did well to create and in the last home game he definitely should've had 1 or 2. Also agree that it was an inch perfect pass, he looked miles better than our other midfielders even in that short time, hope he signs for next season.
